Pamela AndersonFrom slamming fur-wearing celebrities to posing in the buff, Pamela Anderson continues to take her role as honorary director for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) very seriously.

Anderson is helping PETA move 48 dogs affected by the oil spill from New Orleans to Virginia, covering the animals' local adoption costs, including flea treatments and spay and neutering services. Joined by a sea of volunteers in New Orleans City Park Monday, Anderson personally helped prepare the dogs for their journey north.

"Everywhere you go, there are far more dogs than good homes, but the crisis in Louisiana is prompting people to open their hearts and doors to animals in trouble," says Anderson.
