Mary-Kate Olsen Has Learned to Ask For Help When She Needs It (Photos)
Mary-Kate Olsen flies solo on the cover of
Marie Claire's September issue and doesn't shy away from questions about her hard-partying past.
"I think it's really important to be able to talk when something's wrong. I learned at a really young age that if you don't talk about it, it can drive you insane," she says when asked about her tabloid exploits, including a stint in rehab for an eating disorder.
In the issue, the former child star/current style icon gives twin sister Ashley the slip for the fashion-forward shoot, which has her striking a pose in sequins, a military coat and feathers in multiple cover images.
The issue also sees Olsen channeling her inner gypsy woman in a sheer black dress paired with a Dolce & Gabbana jacket with dangling gold charms.
On location at The Inn in Quogue, New York, photographer Tesh snapped The Row designer in a series of images that highlight Olsen's eccentric boho-chic style -- think fur, ankle-sweeping skirts and effortlessly tousled blonde locks.
Speaking of fur, there's enough of it here to give PETA a heart attack. The 24-year-old starlet pairs chunky furs from Marc Jacobs, Doo.ri, Cassin and Alexander McQueen with everything from a sweet, pink Dior dress and Topshop skirt to a sexy candy apple red Givenchy dress with matching boots.
Donning some seriously covetable clothing, Olsen opens up to writer Kimberly Cutter about her design career, saying, "It's kind of like a mask to hide behind."

Jershey shore has got to be one of the stupidest shows ever . You couldn't pay me to watch it .

The Olsen twins, again we have young Americans dying in foreign countries so Losers like these can moan over how they made the money.

Any help then need, they can pay someone for it. Nothing but a couple of spoiled brats.

Stupid, ugly fur wearing troll! I heard they are making a prequel to Lord Of The Rings, maybe that's how you can get back into show business.

The use of fur in their line is not only disturbing, but truly disappointing. Do they not know that innocent animals are stripped of their fur WHILE ALIVE and then left to writhe in agony until their meaningless death... all so that the Olsons can make themselves feel beautiful? I will not buy from their line. I'm not an animal right's activist or anything like that, but I know right from wrong.

If she wants to wear fur good for her, I just wish people would just get a grip. Half if not more PETA people wear LEATHER SHOES.

Geez, I read tons of negative things about Lohan, who obviously has refused to believe she has problems and seems to have no interest in repairing her life. Now Ms. Olsen gives a positive statement about "learn(ing) to ask for help when she needs it" and she is put down for attempting to live a healthy life. Seems like many posters can't be happy with some good news. I for one am pleased Ms. Olsen has some mature insight.

I still never got what is so fashionable about real animal fur. You can wear fake fur and noone can see the difference. It's disgusting and awful that animals have to die for people to get warm. Wear polyester, cotton, or wool if you're cold! I not going to buy from the Olsen's clothing line.
