Rosie O'Donnell Gets Her Own Show on Oprah TV

She's baaaaack! Rosie O'Donnell is returning to daytime TV with a show on Oprah Winfrey's startup network, OWN. In a statement released Thursday, Winfrey said viewers can expect a "fun, uplifting show with Ms. O'Donnell's playful and energetic style."

There was no announcement on the show's name or when it will debut, but Rosie has already outlined the game plan for her new series. In an interview earlier this year, she told 'Entertainment Tonight' that it will be "a single topic, hour-long show about life, love and laughter."

O'Donnell added that there won't be a desk or stars promoting their upcoming projects. "It's gonna be a lot different, because I'm a lot older, you know. It'll be a dozen years since leaving my own show when we go back on the air and I've grown a lot and I think that it's time," she said.

In Sept. 2006, O'Donnell returned to daytime as a panelist on ABC's 'The View,' and was the subject of much controversy, including a highly publicized feud with Donald Trump. A few months later, she engaged in an on-air spat with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over the Iraq War, which led to O'Donnell's abrupt and permanent departure from the show.

In the past year or so, O'Donnell has filmed guest spots on a number of popular TV series, including Lifetime's 'Drop Dead Diva,' 'Nip/Tuck' and the HBO comedy 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.'

Rosie was fun,energetic and uplifting years ago when she began her show. She then turned into angry, nasty Rosie. I won't be watching her new show.

I used to watch Rosie all the time and she was very good. She acted very smart,seemed to be up on every thing,and she had very big stars and treated them well. Then all of a sudden she got nasty and we were not used to nasty back then. I don't know what happened to her but I just stopped watching and guess alot of people did.i was glad to see her go off. Then who decided to put her on the View must have been crazy. So we shall see,it won't take long to figure her out.

Thank goodness Rosie will be back on the air!
Even if she doesn't promote her political and social views on this show, I'm grateful to have one more socially, progressive voice against the plethora of interruptive, loudmouth, arrogant, conservative, tea party types like the View shrew.
Elizabeth, not Rosie should have been shown the door...shame on you Barbara!
Just proves to me yet again, just how far ahead Oprah is from the rest of the pack.
