Whoopi and White House Crasher Go Toe-to-Toe

If we've learned anything this week, it's that if you falsely accuse Whoopi Goldberg of grabbing or hitting you on national television, then you should brace yourself for a barrage of "choice" words from the acerbic 'View' host. The dust-up between Goldberg and Michaele Salahi got its start Wednesday morning during a 'View' segment on 'The Real Housewives of D.C.,' the new Bravo series in which Salahi appears in.

Goldberg, who was not among the interviewers for that 'View' segment, had stepped onto the set of the ABC talker to urge Salahi to discuss the night she and her husband, Tareq, crashed President Barack Obama's state dinner last fall. As she spoke to her, Goldberg could be seen by viewers touching Salahi's arm. Watch:

After the show, Goldberg caught wind that Salahi believed she'd been manhandled so she confronted the D.C. gadfly backstage, using obscene language to drive home her disgust.

"I think I started crying," Salahi said on NBC's 'Today' on Thursday, "because now I have someone that I don't even know, I'm a guest of their show, and they're berating me" with expletives.

Moments later, on 'The View,' Goldberg addressed the scandal at length and showed video of her brief encounter with the woman "who you may remember from her, let's say, surprising appearance at a White House party last November."

When Wednesday's broadcast was over, Goldberg said, "I was told that she thought I hit her. So I went up to her and I told her that she KNEW I didn't hit her. And yeah, you know how I said it: choice words."

During the ruckus, Salahi's husband began filming the scene with his cell phone.

"Needless to say, I really went off, then. And there was even more, choicer words. I mean, they were so choice you could have cut'em with a knife and eaten them."

On 'Today,' Salahi insisted she "never said 'You hit me,'" to Goldberg, rather, ''I said, 'You touched, grabbed my arm.'"

But Goldberg showed video of the on-set brush-up, and it clearly shows the 'View' star lighly touching Salahi's arm, much like how one would do in a casual conversation.

Lost in the shuffle in all this were the other 'Housewives of D.C.' who finally began to feel ignored during their 'Today' segment.

"We're so tired of hearing this and talking about this," said Mary Schmift Amons. "This is a show about five people, not one couple."

This blonde fame-ho has maneuvered herself to create controversy all for the sake of the almighty dollar. Don't doubt for a second that she wasn't paid by the Housewives producers to pull these stunts so as to entice simple-minded viewers who find this self-indulgent lifestyle interesting or amusing. Personally, I find it shallow and pathetic. Whoopie went as far as she could after being egged on. Glad she stopped short of decking her (and her weasel of a husband) since that notoriety would have been like gold for their DC crapfest.

That is no lady, that is an old hag with a fake tan and too much bleach in her hair. I love Whoopi and wish she would have hit this trash but that would be giving her more of what she wants... unwarranted attention. This trash couple should be in jail, not on TV. Since they aren't incarcerated everyone should just boycott the show. I mean there is inane TV with staged spats and frivolity, if that is what you like... go for it but this couple is beyond all that, beyond pathetic. They aren't even good looking or interesting, please stop watching the show until they drop off the pseudo celeb radar.
