After Arrest, Snooki Vows to Curb (Daytime) Boozing

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's drunk tank experience on the Jersey Shore last month has opened her eyes to the pitfalls of drinking too much ... in the daytime, at least.

The diminutive MTV star said her much-ballyhooed July 30 arrest for disorderly conduct in Seaside Heights, NJ was a wake-up call of sorts, especially after she realized how much she had embarrassed her proud family.

"My dad was very, very pissed," she told a gaggle of reporters in L.A. at an MTV press event on Friday. "He's like, 'I didn't raise you like this.' I just felt really bad, so I'm definitely going to stop drinking during the daytime. And now when I go out, I only have a couple drinks."

She told reporters that she'd been drinking tequila since noon that day and by the time of her arrest -- 3:30 -- she was thoroughly snockered. After that, the memories of the episode are hazy. "[I remember when] I woke up in the drunk tank, I was like, 'Alright, I must have drank way too many cocktails.'"

What did she come away with after spending a couple of hours in the drunk tank? "Obviously I like to party," she said. "I like to have a good time but maybe I'm overdoing it a little too much. So right now I'm just watching myself and I can have a good time not drinking."

Snooki is expected in court on Aug. 18. She's understandably a bit anxious about it. "I'm scared to go because I feel like a criminal," she said. "I'm not a criminal. It's just a drunken mistake."

Maybe if the media attention to SNooki would be decreased, the continued aberrant behavior would decrease.

It is a crime that what got lost here is her actions could have resulted in her death from acute alcohol intoxication.

Her father has a lot of other reasons to be pissed than this. Maybe he should have been a better father.

I wonder what job she will have in life when this dog and pony show is over.

I know she is young and just wants to have fun, but she puts herself out there as a target, the way she drinks, the way she dresses and the way she talks. My advice,you can have fun, and still be a lady snookie.

Lindsay Lohan and Snooki...the beauty and the beast? Drinking Tequila(or any booze) in the daytime is first stage of an alcohol problem. Her parents might want to help her now before she does a Lohan or Sheen meltdown.

She is a waste of space and shouldn't be dignified w/anything. That reality show shows how ignorant the women/men act on the show as well as how quick you can get drunk, have sex & get arrested. You don't need to put a show like that on since its giving NJ a really bad name. I've never watched it nor my 14 & 18 yr old kids don't watch it because they both say its stupid. TAKE THAT STUPID SHOW OFF & THE PEOPLE ON THE SHOW WILL DRIFT BACK OFF INTO BEING NOBODYS.
