Jennifer Aniston: No Need to Wait for Mr. Right to Start a Family
Jennifer Aniston does not believe that women have to wait -- or settle -- for a man to start a family.
Speaking at a Los Angeles press conference for her movie about artificial insemination, 'The Switch,' Aniston said that "times have changed" along with the idea of the traditional family. So if that means having one without the man in the picture, that's okay.
"Women are realizing more and more that you don't have to settle, they don't have to fiddle with a man to have that child," Aniston said. "They are realizing if it's that time in their life and they want this part they can do it with or without that."
"That," of course, meaning the man. "It's happening more and more," said Aniston.
In 'Switch,' Aniston, 41, plays a woman who elects to take on life as a single-parent through artificial insemination. When questioned, the most famous single woman on the planet said she didn't "have plans" to take the insemination option for motherhood at this time.
But she vigorously defended the rights of other single women going down that road.
Aniston even engaged in one testy exchange with a reporter who insisted that her movie character was being "selfish" having a child without a father-figure in her life. Minutes after the question was asked, Aniston circled back and insisted that family life has "evolved" from strictly "the traditional stereotype of family."
"The point of the movie is, what is that which defines family?" Aniston said. "It isn't necessarily the traditional mother, father, two children and a dog named Spot."
"Love is love and family is what is around you," she added.
Aniston also took issue with the word "selfish" in terms of the single woman moving ahead with the decision to have a child.
"I don't think it's selfish," she said. "It's quite beautiful because there are children that don't have homes that have a home and can be loved. And that's extremely important."
Aniston fielded a slew of questions about motherhood in the press conference promoting the movie about the very-topic which has dogged her in the entertainment media for year. She even dutifully answered yet another question about whether she wants to be a mother in the future.
"Yah, I've said it years before," said Aniston. "I still say it. That's today. Yah."

Oh God
LOL, you've gotta be kidding me. YOU feel sorry for her? LOL! That's priceless! You should feel sorry for yourself. She's beautiful, filthy rich, healthy, strong, smart, and has good friends. If you look in the mirror, you'll realize that you are really self projecting. LOL..
Having a baby without being married is immoral?? I bet you consider yourself a Christian.
Times might have changed, Jennifer, but the need of a child to have both a father and a mother has not changed. God, or nature, whichever you prefer, intended a child to have the influence of a male and a female, to prepare them for life as an adult. If everyone followed the loonies that inhabit the Hollywood film stages, we would be in BIG trouble.

Yes, but it is a woman's purpose to be a mother. So is she supposed to marry a man that has no morals themselves, ie. Brad, and the others she dated, in order to have a baby? She not telling youth they MUST have a baby out of marriage, just that if it wasn't in the cards for them to find the right man, it's just plain old OK for them to have a child without one. People make such big issues out of nothing. Give me a break.
Really? What planet do you live on? Half the kids raised today are raised by single women. Divorce rate is 52% in USA baby, and many, if not most women get the responsibility of raising the kids without active fathers. A bad father is NOT better than no father.
Poor girl, she is down to this.Im sure some women would love a child no matter how long they waited to get it but for me its almost like she is saying the only reason to get a good man is to have a family.Like there is no other reason to share her life with a man other than using his sperm to make babies or baby.....honestly I have no idea whats wrong with her,Ive never had to date her or hang out with her but most rich and famous women dont have such trouble in finding a man if they wanted a man.She seems like she is in a strange place in her life and we all have been there I know.Jennie needs something but I dont know anymore what that is.Ive read this and that about her over the years but for me she doesnt seem to have it figured out.I wont live with someone Im not married to,never have and never will. She shacked up with Brad Pitt and we all see how that worked out.Jennie,do the right thing, court someone, get to know them,DONT LIVE with them, dont play house like that.I got married late in life too,40 years old,I dated my wife for a while and we got married. We spent the evening after getting married moving her clothing from her house to my/our house and she moved in the day we got married.Thats how it should be and used to be and it works.

Maybe Jen would have better luck keeping a guy if she would take a good look at herself. Change that tired, dated hair style! A new different look might make all the difference!!!
Having a baby by yourself is no different than once you find out your pregnant your boyfriend leaves you, or getting pregnant from a one night stand, etc. Lots of kids only have one parent in thier lives and alot of them turn out way better than kids with two parents. Each child is different though, some need two, some have two but one is gone all the time or they never meet their Dad who is to childish to take care of his responsibilities. At least with no Dad in the picture the child doesn't have to wonder why he/she wasn't good enough to keep Dad around.

Great philosophy CMJ, set the kid up to fail!
One parent does not mean the kid will fail your an idiot. There are plenty of great kids that have only one parent. You all are very close minded. Get with the times and stop thinking your better than everybody else.
Very well said CMJ, I agree with you 100%. I opted to raise my children by myself because of their father being an abusive alcoholic. BTW, they turned out great
Actually, statistically, you are wrong. Children from two-parent households do better in life than those from a single-parent household. Those studies have been done for decades, and they all return the same results. It is healthier for a child to be in a two-parent loving environment than in a one-parent loving environment. Look it up. I'm sure there are exceptions, but generally speaking, bringing a child into this world purposely into a single-parent family is setting it up for failure and frankly, heartache. Children still go to school, play in a playground and see other children with two parents. It's heartbreaking.
Lighten up people Aniston said she has no plan to have a baby by
artifical insemination at this time. She was just defending a womans rights to have other options. Jennifer Aniston is taking her time and making sure the next time down the isle is for ever. If Aniston was a man everything would be consider okay because he is playing the field. I hate when woman are so judgemental to other woman...instead of being on there side.

There is no Mr. Right for a woman who's determined to where the pants in the relationship.

You don't need a man to have a baby but the baby probably needs a Father.
