Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen Officially Split

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have officially split, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. The couple had announced in June they were on a break, but they've called off their wedding and have no plans to get back together. "Yes, the engagement is off," Bilson's rep said.

One of the actress' friends believes distance was the biggest factor in their decision to break up. "It just wasn't working out," the pal said.

Christensen and Bilson met on the set of 'Jumper' in 2007 and got engaged in December of the following year.

Bilson wasn't wearing her ring at the 'Take No Prisoners' event in L.A. When asked how wedding plans were going, she told Us Weekly, "No, no plans" and pointed to her bare hand. "No nothing."

Wow I am really SO surprised that Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christenson boke off their "engagement". I'm pretty sure that it wasn't the, ahem, distance that led to the end of the "relationship". Probably Christenson was just so tired of having a "beard" and was ready for a good public shave.

He was in the last 2 Star Wars movies as a young Darth Vader and she was on the O.C. Neither one has worked on anything of note since at least 2007, probably b/c they suck at acting.
