Friend: Angelina Would Back Jen in Bill-O Battle
Jennifer Aniston has a friend in
Angelina Jolie when it comes to her war of words with FOX News host Bill O'Reilly, who shocked many Tuesday night by calling the actress
"destructive to society" for saying women don't need men to be good mothers, a friend of Mrs. Pitt tells me.
"Angie would totally defend Jennifer on this," the friend says. "She agrees with Jennifer that a woman doesn't need a man to start a family to be a good mother. For Bill to take issue with this statement is him taking issue with every single parent in the world."
Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, raised Angie after her famous father, Jon Voight, left them for another woman. Plus, Angie adopted her first son, Maddox, when she was single, long before Brad came into the picture.
Relationship expert
Matt Titus agrees, telling me, "Bill O' Reilly, the crotchety FOX blowhard, couldn't be more out of touch with the modern definition of a nuclear family. Very often, 'the non-committal' attitude of the modern male leaves the modern woman with no choice but to seek out positive and 'non-traditional' alternatives of creating families. Women do not need to wait for the perfect guy to have the perfect child."
Critics have already jumped in to argue that while O'Reilly's way of thinking is bunk and out of touch, he also miscalculates Aniston's influence on teens and young women.
"I don't think 12 or 13 year-olds are paying attention to what Jennifer Aniston says or even know who she is, for that matter," Beth Feldman, founder of
RoleMommy.com, tells me. "If Demi Lovato or Miranda Cosgrove started tossing around comments about single motherhood, we would all have something to worry about. Jen's message is meant for thirty- and forty-something women who haven't yet met the love of their life -- and she's right on target."
O'Reilly challenged Jennifer to be a guest on his show to defend her statement, however, sources tell me that isn't going to happen. But if Bill has paved the way for Jennifer and Angelina to agree on something, it would be foolish to deny the power of Bill.

What a glowing endorsement from a woman who wears a locket with human blood inside. I'm sure she has the blessings of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton....... experts on human affairs and politics.

I am not sure who you are calling a rich liberal, Jennifer is not a liberal, why did you think she was?
He has a point...but only to a small degree. It's not something we'd want to urge our girls or younger ladies to set out to do, but if a woman is into her 30's and wants children (and is financially stable), but hasn't met the right fellow, then it might be an option. HOWEVER, speaking as a single mom, it's NOT easy to manage children all by oneself, and it would be easier in a 2-parent home, not to mention that there are a lot of advantages for the children to have two parents to love and support them.

If that is the what you truly believe, Mr. O'Reilly, I am sure you also meant to add the statement, "and dead beat dad's are the reason most mothers are single, so actually, the dead beat dad's are destructive to society is what I meant to say."

I think both actresses are way over- rated. I'm so tired of hearing of both of them like they are walking lady God's. I'm tired of Brad, Angie and the whole thing. Does Angie think this is going to put her in good graces for taking Jen's husband. Why must this go on , and on, and on, and on.

Angelina needs to stay out of this. Not her battle.

O'Reilly was just trying to make the point that there are no more family values or family structure....children are growing up without fathers because these fathers don't give a damn and don't support their children. Sure, older woman are having children without a "father" in the childs life, but then they probably have the ways and means to give said child a good life. Aniston and Jolie don't even have to be mothers, they can hire someone to do it for them if they wanted. But in the REAL world...well, look around.....young mothers everywhere with small children and no one to help them but welfare. And that is so sad...because they can't get off that merry-go-round and get ahead.

As a single mother of 7 daughters, 3 college grads (1 md, 1 teacher, 1 with 2 jobs), 2 in college, and 2 in grammar school, I say it would be great for men to stick around, and be responsible, but it's not easy these days finding a good, unselfish, responsible man. I think single motherhood is tough, but can produce some outstanding children. Other than the fact that it's very very hard work, it can be done well!!!

Yeah, right. The backing of someone who has lived the miserably immoral life of Angelina Jolie really means a lot.

i am a 31 yr old single mother to a wonderful 6 year old son. His father and i divorced a year ago after being married for 11 years. The relationship between my ex and I had got to the point of near hatred. The mental and at times physical abuse had to stop, so I left with my son and filed for divorce. Life as a single mom isn't easy and usually isn't the fairy tale a person envisions for their future, but this life on our own is much healthier for my son then what he would have gone through had his father and I had stayed together. A child growing up in an abusive environment would lead to more of a chance of being destructive to society than being raised my a mom who would die for him and who loves him more than anything or anyone in the world, and would sacrifice my dreams just for him to have a life. so Mr o'reilly I am glad you live in a world where marriages last forever and there is a happily ever after, but i live in the real world and here in the real world hearts get broken and life isn't perfect.

Amen Sister. God bless you and your son. You did the right thing:
an abusive spouse never gets better. Bill O'Reilly lives in LaLa land. He's also very mean looking, rude and sometimes downright obnoxious. I'd love to see Mrs. Bill O'Reilly do a live interview with a person like Barbara Walter who has a way of getting people to reveal what they're really thinking. Life with Bill must be far from a bed of roses.
Here is a news flash for Bill, a WOMAN doesn't need a man to have children or raise them, period. I was married to a man who not only left me for another women, but did so while I was pregnant with my youngest child. I raised both my children by myself and put them through college. Bill seems to not want to address the many lazy SOB'S who chose to not be a part of their childrens lives, what does he have to say about that? I agree with Jen and Angie both..What an idiot
