Friend: Angelina Would Back Jen in Bill-O Battle
Jennifer Aniston has a friend in
Angelina Jolie when it comes to her war of words with FOX News host Bill O'Reilly, who shocked many Tuesday night by calling the actress
"destructive to society" for saying women don't need men to be good mothers, a friend of Mrs. Pitt tells me.
"Angie would totally defend Jennifer on this," the friend says. "She agrees with Jennifer that a woman doesn't need a man to start a family to be a good mother. For Bill to take issue with this statement is him taking issue with every single parent in the world."
Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, raised Angie after her famous father, Jon Voight, left them for another woman. Plus, Angie adopted her first son, Maddox, when she was single, long before Brad came into the picture.
Relationship expert
Matt Titus agrees, telling me, "Bill O' Reilly, the crotchety FOX blowhard, couldn't be more out of touch with the modern definition of a nuclear family. Very often, 'the non-committal' attitude of the modern male leaves the modern woman with no choice but to seek out positive and 'non-traditional' alternatives of creating families. Women do not need to wait for the perfect guy to have the perfect child."
Critics have already jumped in to argue that while O'Reilly's way of thinking is bunk and out of touch, he also miscalculates Aniston's influence on teens and young women.
"I don't think 12 or 13 year-olds are paying attention to what Jennifer Aniston says or even know who she is, for that matter," Beth Feldman, founder of
RoleMommy.com, tells me. "If Demi Lovato or Miranda Cosgrove started tossing around comments about single motherhood, we would all have something to worry about. Jen's message is meant for thirty- and forty-something women who haven't yet met the love of their life -- and she's right on target."
O'Reilly challenged Jennifer to be a guest on his show to defend her statement, however, sources tell me that isn't going to happen. But if Bill has paved the way for Jennifer and Angelina to agree on something, it would be foolish to deny the power of Bill.

Jen and Angie both live for the devil? Since you are religious, I can see where you might say that about Angie, but how is Jen lving for the devil? Has she been accused with husband stealing? If she wants children and hasn't found a husband, there is no problem with her finding other methods. She has the money and a good network of friends that would help her and supply good male role models for the child. WHY should she not have a child? (as her movie suggests)

Hollywood is principally made up of alcoholics/drug addicts, narcissists, homosexuals and adulterers. Why are we paying any attention to what they have to say?

I don't usually agree with O'Reilly's "culture war" stuff, but on this issue he's right. If you look at statistical data children from two-parent homes fare far better than children from one-parent homes. They perform significantly better in pretty much all segments of education. There are always exceptions, but for the most part, being a single-parent means your kid will not do as well as kids from two-parent families.

First of all, Jennifer A. has a movie out now about being unmarried and pregnat or wanting to be, I can't recall which. I agree, you don't need a man to raise a normal happy healthy child, Jen is 41 and she isn't married and she would like a child, she can afford one, she doesn't seem to be unstable and I see nothing wrong with it. If you were to go by Hollywood you would think that was the norm since most unmrried actresses adopt babies without having a husband. Angelina Jolie did and she did it 3 times and she had 3 of her own and she still isnt' married but she does have man in her life, just not a husband. Meg Ryan adopted little girl, no man in her life, how about Rosie O'Donnell and her girlfriend/wife, they have about 3 children and there is no man in their life or Jodie Foster who has a child but no man in her life. I could go on and on, Madonna has 2 children by 2 different husbnds, and she adopted two african children, no man in her life either and she has lovely children. It depends on the person. I don't think BIll Reiley knows what he is talking about in most cases anyway, there are more important things for him to rant about, he is not even intresting anymore and he certainly made a big mistake with this remark he made about Jennifer, who died and left him head yenta?

While I do not care for O'Reilly, I have to agree with him here. I was a single mom (nit by choice) until I met my wonderful husband. I do believe that a woman can successfully raise a child on her own. However, O. has a point that the best way to raise a child is in a two-parent household. As a former single mom, I know this is not always the case. That being sais, I don't think it is fair to purposely deny a child either a father or a mother. If you don't have both from the get go, don't have kids! Jen and all other celeb single moms who do so on purpose are selfish!

Oh yeah they are so selfish. They shouldnt adopt those children. They should have just left them in the nasty orphanages they found them in. I'm sure those kids would have been so much better off there with nothing than in a home with a mother who loves them and can financially support them. How many kids have you and your "Wonderful" husband adopted?
Oops- should have been "not by choice," not "nit"!

Maybe O'Reilly should be at home taking care of HIS kids instead of criticizing others.

Well maybe if Angelina wouldn't have stolen Jen's man if she had already had one for her family.
In addition, Angelina is in fact the perfect case to show not just any man is a father. That really is the point, children do much better in life with real father's. Modern or not, good fathers are hard to replace. Sorry Jen :( I hope you can find one soon.

she didn't steal her husband; brad admitted he and jen were seperated and he moved out.he wanted children she wanted a career
there are a lot of single dads too
So O'Reilly is disgusting for saying that a nuclear family is the best option and he gets lambasted by people who see no problem with an infant being murdered in the 7th-9th month of pregnancy. Your indignation loses a bit of its sting when held up to the rest of your perverse dogma. That being said, there are still many great single parent families, its just not ideal.

My unmarried daughter has a 4 yr old son. His father has never worked or pay support for him and only sees him when it's convinent for him which is maybe twice a month for a few hours. My husband and myself have tried to make up for our grandson for not having his father around. He is now very attached to his grandfather. Yes a child needs a stable man in their lives. No person is an island alone. This is why it takes two to make a baby. It is not the childs fault their mother picked out a dead beat dad. But they pay the price for it. Children want a father in their lives.

You go Bill O' Reilly if Brad the Pitts had not run out on Jennifer Aniston in the first place she might have already had children. But the only thing that Jennifer Aniston has done is burn every man after. The only way she will ever get pregnant is by osmosis. Jennifer has no family values and morals!
