Judge Bows to Criticism, Recuses Herself From Lindsay Lohan Case

The judge responsible for taking Lindsay Lohan off the club circuit for a few months is recusing herself from further court proceedings involving the 'Mean Girls' actress,
TMZ has learned.
Judge Marsha Revel's surprise move is in response to allegations from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office that she improperly held meetings with defense attorneys in Lohan's DUI case. Lawyers also took issue with Revel's dialogue with other experts in the case, as well as a rehab center she had considered for Lohan's sentence.
According to the
LA Times, Revel stepped aside Friday just before prosecutors could file paperwork to request the change.
Judge Elden Fox is now handling Lohan's case.
Lohan is currently serving a 90-day stint at UCLA Medical Center after completing 13 days in jail for violating her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI. She was originally set to enter Morningside Recovery, but Judge Revel changed her mind, opting to allow the troubled star to seek treatment at UCLA Medical Center.
Following her time in rehab, Lohan will be on probation until August 2011.
Her legal woes began in June 2007, when she was taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and cocaine possession. Just a month earlier, she was arrested on another DUI charge.
Following her first DUI, Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of reckless driving.

So, what happens now, will she get out of rehab soon? Will they say that her jail stint was too long? Somehow this will be in Lilo's favor. The skank will never learn.

I agree she's so nasty. This is what are children are supose to be looking up to? Thats why children are having children, doing drugs ruine their lives. People like her need to be taken down more than just a couple notches!
How is she going to learn anything when she only spends 84 minutes to coke and DUI charges? If that had been the average Joe, we would still be sitting behind bars or at the very least spend months in jail. What a load of crap.
This girl needs some serious help. She was too damn cute in THE PARENT TRAP. That is when I started to like her, but as she got olderand more famous, she just got caught up in the money, fame and drugs. I think she should have served the entire jail sentence and be sent to rehab for 1 year.

Wow, how nice!
Perhaps we should all examine YOUR LIFE under a microscope, analyze YOUR MISTAKES... and then decide what should be done WITH YOU until we feel you've paid your debt!
Maybe then you wouldn't be so quick to think YOU are SO PERFECT... and that YOUR JUDGEMENT of Lindsay's actions are so HONOURABLE and RIGHT!
Maybe she just needs to know that there's life out there (without drugs). Jail doesn't teach someone that. Rehab does. She's there. Get over it and mind your own business... Did you mistakenly forget to sign your name as "MRS. GOD?"
Another half-written story. So what are the prosecutors saying, that the judge was too easy on Lohan or too hard? If too easy, I can see it. If too hard, who's side are they on or who "got to them?" These celebrity cases always stink to high heavens. Looks like preferential treatment in nearly all cases. If the jail is too small to hold people for their sentences, instead of letting them go hours or days later, then perhaps it's time to build new facilities. Raise fines to finance the build.

it is unfortunate that a judge who seemed to be genuinely concerned with getting this train wreck into some sort of treatment is pushed aside because she took a judicial interest while her mother seems to make no decisions but rather excuses. when this drug addict/alcoholic is in the gutter or dead maybe the prosecutors will think differently.

Here we go again...
Just another example of Hollywood justice regarding another Hollywood celebrity wackjob.
I'm through with Wackowood! It's hard enough dealing with the real world.

You can say that again. Stop handing them money and favors, tey really aren't special. When movies started they had trouble getting into a country club as a guest, now you'd think they were very very special
i agree with you such a crt baby the 1st time was 84 min. now were on day 17 now she wants her dollies and go home i say we all should BOTCOTT all LINDSEYS movies from now on till her last breath if it were you or me wed still be behind bars and they would throw away the key this is another example of the OJ case ,and the sad case is her parents arent washing there hands of her although her dad is friends with the law hes been behind bars pete in arizona
HOPE THEY WILL HAVE TO SEND HER BACK TO JAIL AND START OVER, MAYBE DO 60 MONTHS.

So the judge pays the price for trying to do her job? Lohan got away with a light prison sentence despite a bevy of on/off lawyers who failed to get the sentence quashed. When this brat leaves rehab, one small mistake and back to prison she goes. It is not her sickness that is the problem; it is her contemptous attitude and the idea she is above mortal that are roots of her behavior.

You said it, Magoos! She got off lightly. And it IS her attitude that is the problem, not the drugs or alcohol. Until she is willing to admit that she has a problem with substance abuse, she will never be "recovered".
She is on probitation til Aug. 2011, she will screw up between the time she is out of rehab and then, then she will be back in jail, for years we can all hope. SHe needs to go back to jail and serve the rest of the 90 day sentence. too easy on her as always.

C'mon, go easy on Lindsay, she's done her time and I believe she will truly changed for the better after this cruel and inhumane punishment delivered by this monster of a judge!

THANK YOU!!
Actually, she did not do her time. She was released after only 13 days in jail due to over-crowding.
Go easy on her. Please r u kidding shes a alcoholic and a drug addict who is a child!!! If that was my child she would loose her acting and ALL privalages and I would send her away atlest a year to a rehab. Our children look up to that girl, is that what you want your childern doing? She is a bad role model and a bad example of a teen. Im upset that society lets this happen. If it was a normal teen they would send them to jail and rehab and proscute the parents for allowing it to happen. Theres nothing special about her. Look at her you can tell she's strung out all the time!!!!
And what would your punishment been for Lindsay? Charges dropped, and you would give her a drink and some drugs and said go have some fun Lilo. Losers.
DONE HER TIME??? Are you kidding me! 13 days is not doing her time. When real people are put in jail for 60 days or more - that is how long they spend there. I don't care how much over crowding there is.
