Matt Lauer put Dina Lohan in the hot seat on Friday, pressing the showbiz mom to defend daughter Lindsay Lohan and address long-hovering scrutiny for the way she raised the troubled starlet. It was a tense 11 minutes of television, with Lohan appearing uneasy and even combative at times."Dina felt ambushed by Matt," a family friend told PopEater after speaking with Lohan. "She was surprised how many tough questions he asked."
According to our source, Lohan wanted to focus the 'Today' chat on Judge Marsha Revel's alleged mishandling of her daughter's case, along with her take on the media's portrayal of Lindsay.
"She didn't understand why [Lauer] kept asking her those other questions -- she knows she's a great mother and Lindsay will get out of rehab soon," the friend insists. "Everyone makes mistakes, it's just that Lindsay makes it into the papers."

Way to go Matt! Ole Mamma probably thought he was going to toss up a few lolipop questions to make weirdo Lindsay look like a victim. Oops! Surprise! I thought Matt did a beautiful job, but should have been even tougher. If that arrogant, hedonistic Lindsay would have had a father (and mother) that tough at home she might not be as screwed up as she obviously is now.
I saw this interview, and she (Dina) was clearly drunk. I am very surprised that author did not mention her clear state of impairment.

No wonder Lindsay has a problem, did this mother hear one word Matt said to her? She talked over the top of him throughout the whole interview. She is in denial herself.

These so called family members are not worth the time or effort of anyone. They are sooo disfuntional and messed up in the heads! Lindsey did not get enough jail time and she should have been ordered in to rehab and forced to stay a long time ago. The media and tabloids waste space with this story.

I was channel surfing and stop to listen to what Mama L had to say about her daughter. Clearly in denial about her daughter and takes no responsiblity. IT is quite obvious when she said she has always been in this business but no one knows what she has done that she is living her ACTOR fantasy's thru her kids. I wonder what she will say when A) her daughter kills someone with the car-it was the persons fault for being in the way not her daughter. B) when her daughter dies from a drug overdose-it was the doctors and her friends fault for giving her the drugs it was not my daughters fault. Good thing she has other kids to sponge off of.

You are so right! Here is what she will do: A) she will say that the person should not have been there at the time and it is all of their fault and not her daughters (and then probably try to sue) B) she will blame the drug dealers selling in this country and how the DEA have done nothing (and try to sue)

That woman makes me sick!! She knows damn well she allowed her daughter to go out and party when she was a TEENAGER (not 19). She knows because she was right there with her!! So this bull shyt about not being able to tell your "19 yr old" what she can and can't do is just that... BULL SHYT!!!
She wants to take her away from L.A. because of the system and the city itself but what Mommy Dearest doesn't seem to grasp is... she can take Lilo to the most isolated area in the world and if she wants to booze it up, do drugs and act a fool, she's going to, PERIOD!!

Your right except she WILL blame the media and everyone else around her for her daughters behavior and/or death. She condones LL lifestyle because it's the same as her own, and without Lindsey she wouldn't be able to contintue the life she has. It would be ideal if LL did get help and figure her life out and then look back and see that her Mother is the one that is not good for her or her life.
Dina give me a break! Your daughter drove drunk and should suffer the consequences just like any other "Joe" on the street. She's not special just because she was in a few movies. Plus, the reason she has 12 cars following her to Starbucks is because of the drama she creates in her life. Not to mention she should continue with Rehab for a very long time. Not this crap about her getting out early because if she does I guarantee you those "12 cars" will be following her for a very long, long time.

You know I remember when I was 24 going out to clubs, getting wasted, etc. It is for most the norm. Did her parents live up to parenting? No, not really. Hollywood has a way of bringing out the best and worse in people. Maybe she had to go through all this to get where she is now. I am hoping she gets cleans,stays clean and returns to acting. Say what you will about her personal life, but the woman CAN act.
