Jennifer Aniston Fires Back at Bill O'Reilly

Earlier this week, Bill O'Reilly deemed
Jennifer Aniston "
destructive to our society" because of comments she made regarding single motherhood. Now, the 41-year-old actress is firing back.
"Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth," Aniston told
PEOPLE.
"And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who've not yet found their Bill O'Reilly, I'm just glad science has provided a few other options."
While promoting her new movie, 'The Switch,' earlier this week, Aniston told reporters that women don't need to settle to start a family.
In 'Switch,' Aniston plays a woman who elects to take on life as a single parent through artificial insemination. During the movie's press conference in LA, the actress
admitted "times have changed" and women don't need to rely on men to be good mothers.
"Women are realizing more and more that you don't have to settle, they don't have to fiddle with a man to have that child," Aniston said. "They are realizing if it's that time in their life and they want this part they can do it with or without that."
O'Reilly called out the actress, deeming her message inappropriate. "Jennifer Aniston can hire a battery of people to help her. But she can't hire a dad. Dads bring a psychology to children that in this society is under emphasized. Men get hosed all day long in the parental arena," he ranted.
In a recent
PopEater poll,
63 percent of readers believed Jennifer Aniston was sending the wrong message to teens about motherhood.

I agree, a woman that hot who seems to get dumped as many times as she has... something aint right! And now she is starting to sound a bit like a man hater. No one is saying a woman can't raise a child alone but it's obviuosly not the idea situation so why promote it.
The world is now filled with single parent homes. The normal course of life is no longer normal. Children are raised with one parent and forever miss the balance of love provided by two parents.
Years ago they moved male elephants to a different location in Africa and left the females to raise the babies. When the male elephants became teenagers they started to get dangerous and attack/fight and frighten small villages. After analyzing the situation they brought in several big male elephants. It took a week of male influence to discipline and turn things around.
People may want to have children and fulfill a need. I understand that but why not try to fulfill that need with a child with zero parents? Adopt.
The world does not need one more single mother raising a child.
Just my two cents.

That does not make it right. It's hard enough to raise children in a TWO PARENT home.! Furthermore, WHO CARES what Anniston thinks?
Bill O'Reilly - is taking what Jennifer Aniston said out of context - first of all - 12 - 13yr old girls aren't following Jennifer Aniston and what she has to say - they are more interested in Mylie Cyrus and Selena Gomez and all the other child stars. Secondly, the men of our generation now aren't looking to settle down with one woman because there are so many for them to choose from that they wait until they are middle aged and then try to find a girl 1/2 their age. So i believe all that Jennifer said, was woman with the means financially, and who are mature enough, have other options, in fullfilling their desire for children. Their are all sorts of families in this world and as long as you give them the love they need they will be ok. Let's stop all the judging - Bill O'Reilly shouldn't be the only one to give his opinion on things, just because he says it louded doesn't make him right!
While I think a two parent household is usually the best situation, there are a lot of great kids that are being raised by single parents. And having two parents doesn't guarantee two good parents. You could end up with someone like Bill O'Reilly who seems to think he should tell everyone what to believe and that it must be his way or you have something wrong with you. That would not be good for any child.
Well Murph..I am a single Mother. Widowed. I am raising 2 boys and doing very well. I'm so sick of people saying women can't do it alone or shouldn't. Should I have given my boys to a couple to raise when their Father died so that they had the perfect 2 parent home?!
who cares what either of these idiots think? it's like watching two retards wrestle... wait a minute! I think I have the next mtv show!
Bull elephants never stay with the herd. The herd is female and juvenile males. The young elephants you are talking about were moved to REPOPULATE an area devoid of elephants. THE males NEVER raise the young.
I'm insulted by all these people suggesting that as a single parent I can't raise my son right without a man. In my situation my son is better off without his father. His father is a bad influence. I'm not going to subject my son to him and I NEVER would have married him. My mother and I are doing a fabulous job raising him. He's 11 and gets mostly a's in school. He's well adjusted. It's utter bologna that a single woman can't raise a child. Most woman in this situation are not doing it alone.
Amen. I have 2 adopted children that are the most precious part of our family.
Mandy, I have to wonder why you had sex with the man you talk so bad about. I hope your child does not hear the way you speak of him.
David - I really didn't read anything that Mandy wrote that was real bad about the man that fathered her child. She simply said he was a bad influence. You are probably one of those that gives a great first impression and when it is to late, your colors run and the real you is exposed. Give us a break - idiot.
Who cares what O'Reilly thinks? He's a phone bone moron.
There is nothing wrong with single mothers. Are you joking? you are going to use Elephants as a reference to society? As long as the children are loved, what does it matter how many parents are in the household? There can be two that don't take care of their kids at all, but lets scrutinize the single mothers. Awesome. You are a smart one Murph.
As a mother, grandmother, & great grandmother I love children. I say a child is a child no matter if you adopt or give birth to them the love is the same. Single women & men can now adopt, so why not have children whatever way you wish, no matter how that may be as long as you can afford it & do give them a stable upbringing? And Jennifer Aniston surely can do this & Hurrah for her to not just settle & marry for the sake of having children. If it ends up like her & Brad "S-it", she's still a single parent!!!
Jen, don't give that wrong-wing nasty terrorist the satisfaction. He's a creep and a slob and a loser. F him and go ahead and say whatever you want. What he says means nothing.
anniston cant keep a man. she hates men, just as nasty odonnel. all these stars have life in a make believe and should keep their mouths shut. and most of theses single mothers are single for reasons. cant cook, cant clean, spend too much money at hobby lobby, and think that what they have nbetween their legs is special enough to make them....a tv star. Oriley is right. no daddy has a high rate of kid being gay or in jail. not saying all daddys are perfect, but a good daddy never hinders a child. if the child gets out of line, put a belt on that a..
I saw this special myself and it was very good! If the elephants have misbehaving juveniles then people are sure to find the same affect in our society. No...I'm not saying that ALL of them will turn out that way but God made the male and female, both different, for a reason. It was so that we all as children picked up things from both parents. That cannot happen in a single parent household. There is a reason why they have "Big brother and Big sister" programs too. People don't want to see the reality in life these days and divorce and teenage pregnancy are not good things!
STFU you ignorant twirp. I am a strong, responsible, single mom. I am doing alone what some women can't do with a husband. I do not get child support, nor am I on welfare (before you try to throw that stone). I have a college degree and support my kids on my own. If a mom puts their mind to it they can do it! My children are extremely well disciplined with outstanding grades, as well as supberb athletes. I am doing what you probably could not do on your best day. I did not plan life this way but I make it work. Not all men are strong, nor father figures. Take your elephant study and shove it!
"became teenagers they started to get dangerous and attack/fight and frighten small villages. After analyzing the situation they brought in several big male elephants."
Wow. Apparently our local dept.of welfare read the same article you did. We were having a problem with teens and unattached young men in several of the housing projects and certain neighborhoods. They decided what was lacking was role modeling and discipline from older males, so they, too, decided to bring in several older male elephants. The change was rapid and amazing: within a week the survivors were either hiding or trying to not step in the elephant poo, which was everywhere, and had no time to waste toward getting into trouble. Problem solved.
Actually, your "elephant" analogy is ridiculous: keep in mind that the majority of the worlds species either ignore their young or the young are raised exclusively by the females.
