Neil Patrick Harris 'Thrilled' to Welcome Twins

Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner David Burtka will have their hands full later this year. The actor confirmed the pair are expecting twins.

"So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..." he wrote on Twitter.

According to E! Online, which was first to report the news, the couple are going to become parents with the help of a surrogate.

This is not the first time there's been speculation about Harris' pending fatherhood. Star Magazine reported last year that Burtka and Harris had visited a surrogacy agency in L.A. to get the ball rolling on expanding their family.

They've been together for about six years.

You wouldn't happen to be the mother or father of the child I saw last week being shoved by the back of his neck and yelled at with 'Get your F-ing azz into that car before I crack it real hard', would you? Yeah, I watched that dispicable scene and pitied that child having to grow up with such a low-life mother or father. Notce I didn't say PARENT. Just because you gave birth to a child, it doesn't necessarily make you a parent. People who WANT to have children for all the RIGHT reasons should not be denied the same opportunity as those who have children JUST BECAUSE that's the way things worked out. ANY male or female can be a father or mother but the child needs a PARENT who really wants them in the first place.

is this world screwed up or what? These kids will grow up being taught it's the norm to have 2 daddies and no mother. Both a mother and a father bring elements into a family that can't be replicated by the other. It's not the natural order of things, but when someone has to take the time to even explain this, this world is in big trouble.

Betty.....hetrosexual couples can use surragates as well. Most choose not too. This has nothing to do with adoption!
