Neil Patrick Harris 'Thrilled' to Welcome Twins

Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner David Burtka will have their hands full later this year. The actor confirmed the pair are expecting twins.

"So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..." he wrote on Twitter.

According to E! Online, which was first to report the news, the couple are going to become parents with the help of a surrogate.

This is not the first time there's been speculation about Harris' pending fatherhood. Star Magazine reported last year that Burtka and Harris had visited a surrogacy agency in L.A. to get the ball rolling on expanding their family.

They've been together for about six years.

You mean the surrogate mother and either Harris or Burtka are the parents of twins. You need a man and a woman to make babies. Even Doogie Howser M.D. can't change that.

And don't need to MAKE a baby to be a parent. In fact, there are loads of too young teenagers, drunks, drug addicts and even rapists/rape victims who had no problem making a baby.

There are plenty of step parents, adopted parents, etc who love their children and make wonderful mothers and/or fathers...regardless of the fact they did not MAKE their children.

NPH already said they are using a surrogate to have the children. Just because two men can't technically MAKE a baby does not mean they can't be loving parents.

No he cant and those kids will be so screwed who is MOMMY!

Thanks, Fran. E-Dude, I don't know why you would think I'm a straight-hater when I am straight myself. When I said "anti-gay" people, I meant the people who are against gay rights, gay marriage, and gay existence. To me, that qualifies as anti-gay.

I'm with you Pamela. Just because they are not a "normal" family, doesn't mean they can't raise children together and be good parents. My biological mother died before I was 2 yrs old. My father remarried when I was 6. My stepmother was the greatest mother in the world. Half the time she didn't even remember not giving birth to me. She was as loving a mother as anyone could hope for. God bless you mom, I miss you so much everyday.

Well as this does not affect me they can do what they want. In fact since gay men outnumber gay women by 4 to one this leaves a lot more straight ladies available for straight men. Thus all of you straight guys should encourage gays to advance their rights. It only makes sense, right??

I believe everyone has the right to be happy. And to the person who wants to know how you can tell if they would be good parents, you can tell by how a person acts and behaves in life. Whether they are biological or not they are parents, look at the many people who adopt children, they are parents. Get your heads out from between your legs and wake up.
