Matchmaker Patti Stanger Breaks Off Engagement

'Millionaire Matchmaker' Patti Stanger is officially back on the market after she broke off her engagement with real estate executive Andy Friedman on Saturday. "I just ended my relationship with Andy. It hit me really hard that I want kids in my life. You have to agree on the non-negotiables," she confirmed on Twitter.

Last May, the reality matchmaking star got engaged when Friedman presented her with a 4-carat heart shaped diamond in a white-gold setting. He popped the question in Maui on May 31 -- her birthday. Stanger admits she didn't know he was "the one" at first. "I didn't know. He was my best friend. He just slid into third base. He is one of those guys," she told PopEater back in March.

The couple met five and a half years ago through another matchmaker.

Stanger is bringing her matching-making skills to the Big Apple for the fourth season of Bravo's 'Millionaire Matchmaker.' She will continue to set up wealthy clients in hopes of finding them true love. But the dating scene in New York is "bare" compared to Los Angeles, where she filmed the first two seasons of her hit Bravo reality series. With a limited supply of "hot women" and male "hunters" in NYC, Stanger tells PopEater that season 3 will focus more on the millionairesses.

patti isn't marriage material...she ended up engaged after so many people took potshots at her on her show, that she's supposed to be some sort of expert when she isn't married herself...problem is that patti is an industrial strength irritant, and while she may have a talent for putting people together, she won't be able to find a guy as long as she's running her game plan on national tv

I agree. I like her better with bangs--too much forehead. It appears to me that because she deals with such loser men on the shows, she generally doesn't trust men. I think it would be very hard for her to find someone because of the men she is always around.

I'm so happy she ended that farce. (although I have a gut feeling HE told her 'Cya'!) Some guys are just plain clueless and that poor guy would have been stuck with that desperate wannabe and watched while his nads shrunk to the size of raisins. Not sure why her lips, tan, makeup and personality didn't scare him off in the first place.

I have watched this a couple of times. What a truly, vile and internally unnactractive personality. I can't imagine her being happy with any guy and she is so abusive to the "rich" client. I would think she's treat a hisband the same way. Probably in the wrong business.

It was obvious that she got engaged because her clients/potential clients questioned her matchmaking skills since she wasn't married.

What does she mean she "wants kids in her life"? Isn't she pushing 50? Even if she decided to adopt in the next few years, she might want to think about being the one 70 year old mom at her kid's high school graduation.
