Matchmaker Patti Stanger Breaks Off Engagement

'Millionaire Matchmaker' Patti Stanger is officially back on the market after she broke off her engagement with real estate executive Andy Friedman on Saturday. "I just ended my relationship with Andy. It hit me really hard that I want kids in my life. You have to agree on the non-negotiables," she confirmed on Twitter.

Last May, the reality matchmaking star got engaged when Friedman presented her with a 4-carat heart shaped diamond in a white-gold setting. He popped the question in Maui on May 31 -- her birthday. Stanger admits she didn't know he was "the one" at first. "I didn't know. He was my best friend. He just slid into third base. He is one of those guys," she told PopEater back in March.

The couple met five and a half years ago through another matchmaker.

Stanger is bringing her matching-making skills to the Big Apple for the fourth season of Bravo's 'Millionaire Matchmaker.' She will continue to set up wealthy clients in hopes of finding them true love. But the dating scene in New York is "bare" compared to Los Angeles, where she filmed the first two seasons of her hit Bravo reality series. With a limited supply of "hot women" and male "hunters" in NYC, Stanger tells PopEater that season 3 will focus more on the millionairesses.

I love Patti..Always have..She is a strong woman and maybe considered vile but I like that about her. She is blunt and you all are right she only got engaged cause everyone is on her a** to. I think he just realized he couldnt live with this type of woman for life..Her wanting kids well I would of thought she would wanted that 5 years ago but whatever the reason is I believe she will find another Mr. Right.. I really like Patti Stanger when her show first started, but after seeing what she is really like, I think she is a SKANK! She's crude, rude and out of line in how she talks to people.

I don't watch her show anymore. She's a fraud.

NYC this season - ugh. I hope I don't see her troll-like scowl and hunchback walking the streets of Manhattan anytime soon. In truth, I enjoyed her show for a while but then she had so much random hate for gingers. Calling us old produce and saying red heads are horrible people and that she has nothing but hate for them. It was so random and unintelligible. I bet a hot red head landed her ideal man when she was younger. Look who is old produce now! I bet she would flip if someone were to make a snap judgement on her based upon her ... say hair color or religion. Won't be turning on this season. Fun article, thanks!

Nothing surprising here...the woman is a joke. In the opening of her show she brags of her "extremely high success rate," but in the end the vast majority of her matches choose never to see each other again, often absolutely hating each other. And with her abrasive personality, no surprise that she has failed to find a match for herself.

I think if the show is successful at all, it's the whole train-wreck phenomenon...so awful you can't look away.
