Zsa Zsa Gabor Has Two Blood Clots Removed

Zsa Zsa Gabor had two blood clots removed over the weekend and is resting comfortably at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center.

Her publicist John Blanchette says Gabor was in surgery for several hours Saturday for the removal of the clots from her upper body, one of them very close to her heart. He expects Gabor to go home either Monday or Tuesday.

Gabor was hospitalized Friday afternoon because she was bleeding and in a lot of pain.

She had broken her hip July 17, had hip replacement surgery and had just returned home from the hospital Wednesday.

Blanchette said Saturday was Gabor's 24th wedding anniversary with husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt, and the two were unable to have their traditional ice cream celebration.

Gabor had been hospitalized at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center since she broke her hip July 17. The actress's condition began to deteriorate after hip-replacement surgery days later, and she remained hospitalized for the following three weeks. On Tuesday, Gabor's publicist announced the actress had an infection.

Throughout her hospital stay, there were a series of conflicting reports intimating that she was near death (fueled by her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt) as well as "going strong" (daughter Constance Francesca Hilton).

Gabor was originally hospitalized in July after she fell out of bed while watching TV in her home in Bel-Air, California. Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident and had a stroke five years ago -- Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

What i'd like to know is WHY the Drs. performed a hip REPLACEMENT surgery on a 94 yr. old person?? She must have GREAT insurance otherwise, they dont bother to do it. Shame on them for putting her thru it.
