Priest Gives Ailing Zsa Zsa Gabor Her Last Rites

Zsa Zsa Gabor's health has taken a sharp turn for the worse following emergency surgery over the weekend, and she has received her last rites from a priest.
The famed socialite's publicist, John Blanchette,
told reporters on Sunday that Gabor "has seen a priest and is not doing very well." He administered the Catholic sacrament Sunday morning at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center with Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, by her side.
"It is a very difficult time for her family," Blanchette said.
Gabor, 93, was in surgery for several hours on Saturday to remove blood clots from her upper body, one of them very close to her heart. At the time, Blanchette sounded hopeful, saying Gabor would likely return home either Monday or Tuesday.
Blanchette said Saturday was Gabor's 24th wedding anniversary with von Anhalt, and the two were unable to have their traditional ice cream celebration.
Gabor had been hospitalized at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center since she broke her hip in a July 17 fall at her home in Bel-Air, California. The actress's condition began to deteriorate after hip replacement surgery a few days later, and she remained hospitalized for the following three weeks. On Tuesday, Gabor's publicist announced the actress had an infection.
Throughout her hospital stay, there were a series of conflicting reports intimating that she was near death (fueled by her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt) as well as "going strong" (daughter Constance Francesca Hilton).
Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident and had a stroke five years ago. Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

People who entertain us are always special. Yes, I make light of them & myself, but in the end they are precious.....Alfred-
Most people over 70 who break their hips don't make it back, unless their rich. money and health when your old go hand in hand.the cures are up..the money to pay for them are down.look for crime to rise to pay for basic medical.

You're a real jerk you have nothuing so you curse everyone who has perhaps you should suffer the way she has
Untrue my sister broke her hip and had a replacement when she was 80. She was out of the hospital and walking unaided in 3 weeks! She lived to be 91.
texxx-My grandmother had her first hip replacement at 80. Her other hip at 85. She is now 90. She plays golf, shops, everything. She is far from rich. You don’t know what you are talking about. Thus meaning, you are a moron.
So sad even at 93. The end of an era...

Rest easy, dahling! You've had a nice long life and lived every minute of it with plenty of husbands and scandals. Here's to the first media dahling who was famoust for being famoust.
It's never a tragedy when an elderly person dies. It's life.

Let's see how you feel when your parents and loved once die?
you change your mind fast.
Already been there, benji. My folks lived long, productive lives and I celebrate their lives and that they are at peace and no longer in pain or suffering. I repeat, it's not a tragedy. It's life.
At least, she'll die with a new hip. Presumeably, the bill was paid by Medicare. What a waste of money and medical resources, replacing a hip at age 93.

Agreed that this is a considerable expense considering probable lifespan, but they didn't replace her hip so she could go running...
Some hip fractures are amenable to just pinning, but depending on the location, it's often necessary to replace the joint. Hip fractures are quite painful and the only way to relieve the pain is to stabilize the fracture.
While you are allowed to euthanize your dog if it's hit by a car and breaks a leg/hip, it's illegal to do so with your parents!
You wouldn't consider it a waste if it was your mother or sister or wife. You are an idiot..no value for humanity.
Moron....considering your statement you probably would also consider it a waste for an older family member but of course, not a waste if it were for YOU!
It was a "waste of money" unless it was YOUR hip!
Zsa Zsa has had a rich and wonderful life. Zsa, Zsa, her sister and mother are royalty in Hollywood because of their generosity and good deeds. If she is, indeed, dying, I pray her journey is a short, painless one where she meets her sister and mother once again in heaven. Thank you, Zsa, for letting us peek into on your wonderful time here on earth!
