Erykah Badu Gets Probation for Stripping

Five months after filming the video for 'Window Seat,' Erykah Badu has paid a $500 fine and will serve six months of probation for stripping during the music video shoot in Dallas.

In March, Badu performed a walking striptease for her 'Window Seat' music video at Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot in 1963. The video ends with a nude Badu falling to the ground as if she has been shot.

Police in April cited her for disorderly conduct after a witness made a sworn complaint. A number of children were among the tourists and other random passers-by seen in the video.

Badu strolled through the city center of her hometown, tossing her clothes while walking slowly to the tune of the track. The singer admits her stunt has been "grossly misunderstood."

Back in April, she told Wanda Sykes, "J.F.K. is one of my heroes, one of the nation's heroes ... Kennedy was a revolutionary; he was not afraid to butt heads with America, and I was not afraid to show America my butt-naked truth."

Ha if it had been a guy that wasn't famous he would have been charged as a sexual predator and had to register as a sex offender. Love the standards of law in the good ol US of A.

It was a boring video. She could have kept her clothes on. I don't know why they make such a big deal of nudity in America. It's not like she caused accidents or anything by going nude.

The issue is that she undressed in public which is against the law. The fact that she is using the ruse of "art" to pull off a publicity stunt doesn't make it right that she broke the law. Add to that the fact that, while many people out there love porn, many people are offended by it. The only difference with porn is that you have the option to view or not view it, some of these people had it forced on them. And I'll be damned if anyone's going to inflict this on my child without first getting my permission. This was nothing more than a desperate act for publicity....and it worked! Too bad she wasn't treated worse than any normal Joe on the street since she did this with forethought.

There is a time and a place for that type of art, but not on the streets in front of someone's children, if a person doesn't get nude in front of their own children why would they accept someone else being nude in front of their children. I would be willing to bet if she was at a picnic or a park with her children and someone approached them nude she'd call the police, especially if it were a man. I have no respect for her and never will. EVER

Some people wouldnt know art, if it fell from the sky and hit them in the face. This woman is one of them, being naked is not art. She stripped in front of young children..
As for where she did it, shame on her, and everyone involved.
