Five months after filming the video for 'Window Seat,' Erykah Badu has paid a $500 fine and will serve six months of probation for stripping during the music video shoot in Dallas. In March, Badu performed a walking striptease for her 'Window Seat' music video at Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot in 1963. The video ends with a nude Badu falling to the ground as if she has been shot.
Police in April cited her for disorderly conduct after a witness made a sworn complaint. A number of children were among the tourists and other random passers-by seen in the video.

WAS IT LUDE OR JUST NUDE?

I'm all about the right to be naked. But I'm also equally for the right of people NOT to see someone else naked unless they want to. What she did was non-consensual with the tourists who could see the video being recorded. If she wants to rent out a studio and invite people to watch her parade around naked...go for it. But don't inflict her desires on others without consent. That's just wrong.

Never heard of her must be some rap-crap singer.

She's butt-naked ugly, and she has no respect for the memory of John F. Kennedy by stripping in public, and where little children can view this! Shame on her.

Jebb, okay you think she is ugly and you dislike that she striped for her video in a public place, we get that. You really should have left it at that dude, you can not speak to her feelings about JFK, she actuially has voiced great respect for JFK, as many American's do! One thing has nothing to do with the other and perceptions vary with the eye's of the beholder! So shame on you!

TRUE CATHY; BUT DALLAS WAS AND STILL IS ONE OF THE MOST RACIST CITIES IN AMERICA . JFK WAS HATED IN TEXAS BECAUSE HE WANTED EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL U.S. CITIZENS AND WAS ASKED NOT TO GO BUT HE DID ANYWAY. IF DALLAS POLICE DID THEIR JOBS AND SECURED THE OBSERVATORY IT WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. THEY SHARED THE SAME HATEFUL SENTIMENTS AS MOST OF TEXANS DID

pointless or nearly so...seems the real point is to get herself some attention and sell some music and get herself and her handlers and hangers-on some money.
those without substantive ideas pull stunts.

Dallas should be designated as a nuclear testing ground. Nothing but idiot rednecks there.

A striptease? Just because she took her clothes off doesn't mean she was doing a striptease. She was trying to make a statement; she discusses it in an interview on a black music website(can't remember the name). Writers such as the one for this article should be sure to choose the proper word use when telling about something like this, especially when insinuating that a woman was doing a striptease in the street out in public-that sounds obscene and that was not her intention-some people are so close minded. Art is unique to everyone. What is art to me may not be art to you but we still have the right to express ourselves and this act is how Badu chose to express herself. I'm not surprised that so many people rushed to judge instead of taking a moment to at least attempt to appreciate the meaning behind her actions. Most people are so busy trying to stay inside the box that they belittle anyone who takes the risk of being a self-thinker.
