Bankrupt 'Housewife' Teresa Giudice Goes on $60K Shopping Spree

Bankruptcy court records show 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe owe creditors nearly $11 million in various debts, but new evidence proves the couple went on a $60,000 shopping spree not long after they filed for bankruptcy, NY Post reports. New court records claim the pair spent $8,800 on curtains and nearly $45,000 on wall hangings, mirrors, frames, tables, urns and chairs.The evidence came to light after the couple tried to convince a Newark federal bankruptcy judge to stop the planned Aug. 22 auction of their personal belongings.

Judge Morris Stern refused to stop the auction, but postponed it until Oct. 3.

"These were not Ikea-purchased furniture items," Stern said. "These were from high-end design stores."

In papers filed in Newark Federal Court, the Guidices claim to only make $79,000 a year, and are unable to handle the foreclosures and hefty credit card bills.

The court document lists their money woes in detail:

► The bank has moved to foreclose on their $1.8 million home in Towaco, NJ.
► Banks have taken their Jersey Shore house along with another home in Lincoln Park, NJ.
► Teresa owes $12,000 to a fertility clinic.
► They've defaulted on payments for their Escalade.
► Joe personally owes $5 million to former partners of real estate deals.

The system sucks. A few years ago I loaned my entire savings to my boss; yep, that's right, my boss, a real estate broker. They had already filed for bankruptcy (without telling me) & of course not long after listed their debt to me on the filings.
Pitifully, I was trying to save funds to help my sister who suffered with multiple sclerosis (M.S.) & would one day need home care. Well, that didn't happen. I had to have her put in a 'home' where her entire social security was paid to them & there was nothing I could do to make her final days happy ones. She's gone & I wasn't even there to be with her.
I now live with not enough money to survive & have gone through cancer treatments that have taken just about everything out of me. I still think about my sister & what could have been done for her had these people not stolen from me.

I dont really think "the system" is to blame here.No one MADE you give your money willingly to someone else.I mean,if it was that big of an issue(meaning,if your money had such importance as giving your sister a place to live in her state)then it was your poor descion in giving that money away.I feel bad for your sister,but blame on the system is NOT accurate.

OMG...I love this broad...She is so stupid and trashy!!!! I could watch her for 2 hours straight. The gaudy clothes on her AND her kids,the blatant ignorance of her surroundings (and her husband's gumare - girlfireind to those who do not speak Soprano),the ability to goet al l mafia princess in a heatbeat..SHe IS this show.
