'True Blood' Stars Bring Blood and Sex to Rolling Stone

'True Blood' serves up a lot of blood. And sex. And bloody sex. And if you happen to enjoy these things, it's likely you're tuning in to HBO's mega-hit Southern vampire saga every Sunday night for a fix. But this season -- the dirtiest yet! -- has us asking, has it gone too far?

In the same pushing-the-undead-envelope spirit, the stars of the show "grace" the cover of this month's Rolling Stone, and the bloody, flesh-baring image has everyone talking.

Rolling Stone interviewed show creator Alan Ball for cover story 'The Joy of Vampire Sex,' and he takes a few jabs at a certain popular rival vampire phenom, the 'Twilight' saga. "The idea of celibate vampires is ridiculous," Ball says. "To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."

So what do the stars attribute 'True Blood's' success to? "If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before. It's a de-virginization.. So that's pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive," Stephen Moyer says, who plays vampire Bill Compton.

It's not for young children or any children at all. It's for adults who CHOOSE to watch it on PAYED television. That's what's great about the country we live in... you can choose to watch or not to watch, at least you have a choice.

Oh, get a grip. No one is showing this to children. If a kid is up at 10 p.m. watching HBO, then their parents should be punched in the face. This is a show for ADULTS. If you don't want to watch it, DON'T. But that is what is so great about America. You don't have to if you don't want to, but I CAN IF I CHOOSE TO!!

There was a time, way back when, when I would have agreed. But I've grown and I LOVE watching this show. It is not for kids. I dont even look at any photos or clips when my daughter is around. TrueBlood is only for when the kid is in bed.
And please, there is worse things kids see, from TV, internet, and haunted houses at Halloween. This cover is nothing.

This is a adult content show. I watch this show when my daughter is sleeping or in school (on demand lol). This show is not the kind of show by any means for a child to be watching. I am so sick and tired of other parents spouting off that shows like this should not be on tv....when they have a choice not to watch it. Another thing its a show on HBO and there are warnings before the show even starts that its not the kind a show for children to watch.

I for one love this pic. I wish it had the rest of the cast though.....(Love the books and love the show).

I agree with you Luvie. The sad part is that you are lowest ranked and those who like it are highest ranked. I don't care if it is said that it is for adults,children are exposed to these magazines in the stores. Total garbage to sensationlize blood on nude actors on a already falling apart magazine such as this .

He finds teenagers irritating and ill-informed? Yes, and I'm sure he was a pleasure to be around and a fountain of earth-shattering knowledge when he was a teen. Pffft. Everyone has to go through being a teen to get to being an adult. Teens are no less useful or interesting than anyone else. Possibly more so, as most haven't developed the charming habits of enormous ego and intellectual narcissism.
