Larry Birkhead, former boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith and father of their little girl, testified Thursday in the case against Howard K. Stern and two doctors accused of unlawfully plying Smith with prescription drugs, the Associated Press reports. During his testimony, Birkhead revealed that he witnessed the reality star take many medications during their relationship though she claimed she wasn't an addict."She would say, 'I'm in pain. I'm not a drug addict,'" he recalled. When he asked her if she was possibly taking too many medications, she said, "I have a high tolerance because I'm in pain."
Birkhead met Smith in 2004 and the two moved in together soon after. He said when they lived together, he saw Methadone, Topamax, Vicadin, Ambien, Valium, Chlonopin and other drugs around Smith's Los Angeles home according to E!Online.
Smith's former boyfriend also revealed that he was so concerned about the number of drugs she was taking, that he at one point, he hid her Methadone. Stern reprimanded him and told him that Smith "needed the methadone to live." After hearing that, Birkhead said he never hid her medications again, saying he, "didn't want anything to happen to her after [Stern] said she needed it to live."

Hey Sexy Mama - Your spelling must not be much better than the writer of this lousy article. Spellcheck gets only a small percentage of spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Maybe you're the one who needs to take an English course.
WOULD YOU send out such drivel? Not only is this a C R A P article to begin with...drizzled with horrible punctuation...iced with spelling errors...say it ain't so Joe...er...I mean Mike-

Its pathetic that any parent, would allow their own child, or any child, to take any type of drug. I liked Anna, but her allowing her own son to take drugs is pathetic.
It was just horrible that he dies so young, and the reason for it.
The only good thing about this story was that Larry has his child. I think he will be a great father, I wish him and the child, all the very best.

Re: CarolHock
Carol, thank you for your response. I do know that sometimes peoples fingers are faster than than their brain, or whatever. As for the person doing the story, I agree they are not really qualified for the job they are doing, but maybe they were a beginner that wasn't yet versed on the art of spell check. With me, I have to pull up a write screen in order to use spell check, so maybe they are not aware that there are tools out there that can be used to aide them in writing an article like the one they messed up so badly. Thank you for taking the time to remind me that if we are going to do it, we need to do it WRITE. Please have a great day. Katie

Who writes these articles, what kind of journalist/columnist doesn't proof read or verify correct spelling. This piece is a joke!

Larry knew what was going on and is just as bad as the rest for not intervening. Now Dannielynn has no mother and only a legacy of endless trials over the estate and conspiracy over her mother's death. When will it end? These enablers need to be punished to the full extent of the law.

I don't believe for one instant that Larry Birkhead gave Anna drugs. He tried very hard to get her to stop that's why she broke up with him. I think Howard Stern loved her so much that whatever she needed he'd get it for her helping enable her drug habits. The whole thing is very sad. Drugs kill and Anna obviously had alot of addiction and psychological problems that no one could help her with.

@ Ursula:
Clonozepam is the generic version of Klonopin.
Don't ask me how I know. I just do.

Katie, Just laughing at what you wrote about the spelling experts who know how to properly spell the names of the drugs mentioned in the article about Anna Nicole Smith's supposed need for Methadone. Even pharmacists probably have trouble remembering how to correctly spell the names of all the drugs they dispense/fill.
