Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag Divorce Moving Forward

One of the most talked-about unions in Hollywood is officially coming to an end. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are moving forward with their divorce, PEOPLE reports. Pratt's divorce papers were filed in the Santa Monica, California courthouse Thursday afternoon, Montag's lawyer Jodeane Ferrel confirms to the magazine.

"Spencer has acknowledged that the divorce is going forward," Farrell said. "He signed the papers."

In fact, Pratt signed the divorce papers last week on August 13; the divorce will be final in six months, coincidentally on February 14, 2011. Montag filed for divorce from her publicity-loving husband on July 30 just two months after legally separating from Pratt.

"Heidi has amended her petition for separation and today has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt," Montag's lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, said in July. "The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce."

At the time, Pratt opened up about the divorce, saying the couple's marriage was a sham. "I love Heidi but our marriage was a show -- it was part of The Hills world," Pratt said. "And that world is on a sound stage."

"Some say if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen, Well, Heidi couldn't handle King Spencer's fame so she got out of the marriage," he added.

A source close to Montag and Pratt said that the breakup was a long time coming. "It wasn't just a sudden thing. Heidi is looking to move out due to all the fake bad press that Spencer controls. She's tired of it and is looking for a place and wants to focus on her acting career," her rep told TMZ.

omigosh, like this isn't a publicity stunt as well? Gee, it's been a few months with no front page exposure, better think of something quick! hey, how about we file for divorce, make it ugly, Dingaling Spencer will go on drinking binge and then poor broken-hearted DingDong Heidi will have more cosmetic surgery then in a few months, all will be forgiven and there will be another atrocious spectacle of a wedding! Hmmmm....I should be a reality show writer or tabloid reporter! LOL ;o)
