DJ Marc Mysterio Sues Brandy for Millions

Singer Brandy has once again found herself named in a lawsuit.

Internationally-known house music artist Marc Mysterio and his management are reportedly seeking up to $6 million, claiming breach of contract and failure to perform. Papers were filed this morning at the Central District of the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Brandy was allegedly paid $10,000 to deliver two 16-bar verses as her Timbaland-created rap alter-ego, Bran'Nu, on the lead single from Mysterio's forthcoming debut album, 'Redemption.' But when it came time to deliver the vocals, Brandy's manager and cousin Ryan Ramsey dropped a bombshell on Mysterio and his management. Mysterio tells PopEater that in a phone conversation between the two parties, Ramsey allegedly said:

Yo Marc, listen, we just had a meeting with Universal and we tryin' to wrap up her new album deal with them and we have an issue now cuz we went over all the features she had lined up and they won't sign the deal with us if she follows through on your song cause they don't want her rapping over a dance record since they weren't happy with how her Bran'Nu tracks on Timbaland's album went down, so we gotta back out on this one.

As a result, Mysterio and his Stockholm-based managers say they are seeking between $1 and $6 million for various damages, including loss of income, damage to reputation and inability to replace her with equal or better talent.

Mysterio's attorney, Laurence Clarke, is confident his client will win the case, saying, "They had a contract, it's quite clear what the arrangement and terms were, and they were supposed to provide [vocals]. Marc and his colleagues made all these arrangements for international commercialization. We're trying to contrast the profits now against if she would've actually performed on the record as she was supposed to -- that's why you have contracts."

In 2007, the R&B songstress was named in a $50 million wrongful death suit related to a much-publicized 2006 car accident that left a mother of two dead.

Azaunt you stupid c**t. Brandy is an amazing and unique talent. She has one of the most unique singing voices in the industry. Her rap is pretty good either. I read recently that she has decided against pursuing a rap career and just to stick with what made her famous: singing R&B. And that's cool with me. As far as the accident, that was not her fault. Period. Brandy Forever. Yeahhhh.

Brandy is a has-been who should have been flattered that somebody -- ANYBODY -- was willing to contract with her to perform. Even in her "prime", she was a marginal talent who, like that Bieber kid and Lady Gag, was the product of slick, imaginative management. When you sign a contract, you don't just call and say 'uh, sorry, I decided I don't want to do that'. A contract is a contract.

i do not know why they are booking her to perform she been gone for to long i do not think she can sing anymore that is why she is trying to rap just book some heavier hitters next time like monica,kelly clarkson or someone that sing on award show

Brandy can sing. She has a beautiful voice. And she sings quite often on all sorts of shows even singing a capella sometimes. She has made recent music. Her latest song Departed is one of her most beautiful songs.
