Dolly Parton's Movie Comeback with Queen Latifah

Backwoods Barbie isn't slowing down anytime soon, as The Hollywood Reporter says that country-music icon Dolly Parton, 64, plans to reignite her movie career by costarring opposite another versatile force to be reckoned with,
Queen Latifah.
The upcoming Warner Bros. feature 'Joyful Noise' is reportedly about a woman (Parton) who's widowed by a small-town gospel-choir director and a mom (Latifah) who's put in charge of the music group that Parton's character expected to step in and lead. Director Todd Graff (whose 2003 indie 'Camp' was about 'Glee'-like misfits at a musical summer camp for teens) also wrote the script for 'Joyful,' which follows the leading ladies' efforts to overcome their differences and save the choir from going under due to budget cuts.
The two recording stars share a penchant for singing on the big screen. Queen Latifah, 40 (who recently starred in the romantic comedy 'Just Wright'), was an Oscar nominee for her acclaimed performance belting out the role of Mama Morton in the 2002 film musical 'Chicago.' As for Parton, Latifah's 'Joyful Noise' costar hasn't appeared in a feature film since 1992's 'Straight Talk,' but after her memorable turn in the 1982 film musical 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' and her Oscar-nominated contributions to 1980's 'Nine to Five' soundtrack, she'll be in familiar territory crooning on set during the new collaboration.
Production on the film is scheduled to begin in January.

What is it with people, do they feel better about themselves when they belittle people, were they bullies in school? People need to like people for who they are, not what they look like. If everyone was the same can you imagine how much would be spent on plastic surgery and how boring the world would be. If skin color is such a big thing with people why do so many people go in the tanning beds? Get over yourself, get to know someone you would never talk to before, never know you can make a friend and you can never have enough friends.

Have liked Queen Latifah in everything I have seen her do. Loved Dolly in Nine To Five. She was so good in that movie.

I agree how could she lower herself to that level. Apparently she is hurting for money. Some people have no clue what is going on, and they prove it by making retarded posts, such as sammie, carol, cftenor and the likes. They are so so sad. Glad some of us still walk proud.

LOL.. Some walk proud. You, on the other hand, walks stupid. But not to worry.. I'm sure it's not your fault.
Your opinion would matter sammie, if you were someone that did, but you don't. Go ask your ol lady what that means. She will be home in about 3 hours. I will be done then.
Poor old man...a bit past your prime, aren't you. She's been home for hours. Said you were done before you even started. Where else does THAT show up in your life? ROFL.
i'm a little confused by the premis of the movie. dolly parton plays a woman (Parton) who's widowed by a small-town gospel-choir director and a mom (Latifah) who's put in charge of the music group that Parton's character expected to step in and lead. .. parton was married to the chior director and instead of her taking over the choir, latifah is put in charge?... am i getting close?
in either case it sounds like it will be a good movie.. both women are wonderful in their own way.. together they should be great.
