Brad Pitt Has Change of Heart on Death Penalty?

It took Angelina Jolie to change Brad Pitt's tune on marriage (they won't get hitched until gay couples can do the same), and it's taken a catastrophic oil spill to give the star pause on his death penalty stance, according to a new documentary set to air on HBO.

In 'If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise,' a film by Spike Lee marking the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the actor-activist said BP oil executives like the much-maligned Tony Hayward should possibly pay the ultimate price for the Gulf oil disaster.

"I was never for the death penalty before -- I am willing to look at it again," he remarked.

Pitt is featured in the doc because of his efforts in New Orleans to build 150 affordable and sustainable homes in the storm-ravaged city. 'If God Is Willing' was designed to be an up-beat followup to Lee's glum 2006 film 'When the Levees Broke,' and was to detail much of the progress in rebuilding the city and end with the Saints winning the Super Bowl.

But when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, killing eleven workers, Lee extended the film to include the aftermath and oil spill.

"This would have been a much more upbeat documentary for sure," Lee said over the weekend. He said the oil spill forced him to "rethink and reconfigure" the film's ending.

'If God Is Willing' premieres on HBO Monday night.

11 men and countless numbers of animals suffered and died bcuz of Tony Hayward's greed and knowingly lack of safety oversight.

If your loved one had died in this event, all of you out there dismissing Pitt and the death penalty would feel differently.

Really, I don't give a hoot about the opinion of overpaid stars.
If he wasn't good to look at he would never have reached stardom. By the way, when you consider how much money he has made what he gives to charity is a drop in the bucket! Much less( percentage wise) than a lot of average people give.

Brad and Angelina are so out of touch with reality that it would be irresponsible to even think their opinions worthy of consideration.
