Should Kate Gosselin Start Dressing Her Age?

Ooooo la GAH!!! Has Kate Gosselin been borrowing some of the twins' clothes because her style has gone from suburban mom to tween-scenester this summer? Kate's been rocking some wilds prints, strapless dresses, short shorts and backless shirts with hooker-style heels. Sure, she's single and on the prowl, but this 35-year-old cougar seems to be forgetting that she is also somebody's (eight somebodies to be exact) mother.

"Judging by Kate's recent style change, it looks like her cougar instincts are starting to take over and her quest for a younger man is in full effect. Her zebra ensemble she was taped in was enough to make me throw up my Cheerios!" says Jay Grdina, CEO of celebrity website Kikster.com. "I have watched Kate go from the average midwest mom with mousy hair and a sweet belly pooch to an extension wearing wannabe Britney Spears! It was bad enough having to live through the Jon 'Ed Hardy' era, now we all have to suffer through the Kate 'Cougar' era ... UGH, I quit. Either someone tosses her into a conservatorship or we will most likely be seeing the Kate Gosselin sex tape on shelves soon!"

Even her makeup has gotten to be a little too much. For that, though, we can probably blame Kate's stint on 'Dancing With the Stars.' Once you start with the shimmer pot, it is hard to stop.

"There's definitely become a new emphasis in Kate's look. I don't know whether the heavy makeup she's been donning lately is making her look younger, but it is sending a clear message. Generally, woman even without children don't go jogging with smoky eyes. Kate hit her workout with a full evening face on. Most women with young children find it difficult to just do the basics. Sultry eyes, glossy lips and hair extensions? That's a check list for a Hollywood starlet, not a mom of eight," said makeup and style expert Megan O'Brien, proprietor of Meg's Makeup.

But maybe we should cut the woman a break. She is single and looking for love. Is she supposed to catch a man wearing polos and mom jeans? Probably not the kind of guy with enough bank to support eight kids.

StyleList's Marissa Gold also thinks that Kate's new-found celebrity gives her license to dress a little racier than the average mom.

"At 35, Kate Gosselin is still young enough to show off her body within reason. She's been through a lot and clearly enjoys having the spotlight on her in recent years. Her outfits definitely skew sexier than other moms her age, but then again, the average suburban mom isn't in the same spotlight as Gosselin," Gold says. "The pressure of having the paparazzi snap shots of you in a bikini, and all of America watching you in skimpy 'Dancing with the Stars' costumes has led to Gosselin remaining very committed to her fitness regime, and she looks great. She can definitely pull off a miniskirt or some short shorts here and there, so why not have fun? She's still single, and she's still young."

You're full of it! Her style is JUST FINE! Nothing wrong with the ways she dresses - she dresses very well and looks good on anything! She has beautiful legs and body! She still very young and can wear anything she pleases and does not have to answer to you or anyone! Plus she is a very smart woman, with a secure future in an unstable economy where people are collecting welfare and don't have food in the cupboards! Please grow up and look in the mirror! If Jennifer Aniston or Sandra Bullock wore a strapless dress like that that (which they have) would you feel the same way??? Kate is younger than both of them! She is hardly dressed any different than many other moms I know. Me included. I have 4 kids. I don't think Kate Gosselin is perfect, but this constant picking at her gets old. Can't she live her life the way she wants?

I agree with meutzy - if Demi Moore (who I think is older than Jennifer AND Sandra) wore this, everyone would say how stylish she is. She married a man half her age and people think it's "cool". Give me a break. I don't care for Kate, but now you're just being petty.

To the two that brought up real celebrity women wearing the same thing and the public would approve, there's a simple explanation as to why that would be: They have beautiful bodies. Kate should wear things that flatter her figure, not necessarily what is trendy. I don't like Kate, but I believe that every woman should dress their body to flatter, and Kate does not do that.

Women need to stop judging other women. Would you want to be responsible for 8 kids and be a single Mom? I'm sure she has a very stressful life even with help and whatever money she makes from her reality show. As far as dressing her age, just how should she dress like a school marm? It's not about age, it's about the shape your body is in and how you feel about yourself. If she wants to wear styles that make her feel younger and better about herself, it's her choice. Don't hate!

Don't let her fool ya, girl! Look at the picture again! She looks like something that tumbles out of an 18-wheeler at the local truck-stop in anywhere USA! Of course not dress like a school marm but for hell's sake-many of her kids are girls and unless she wants to see bus loads of them being dropped off from a night out in a few years, and looking just like this-she needs to clean up! Kids learn by example, and so far this Mommy hasn't made many good ones to learn from! She is worth a few million, I know with a lot of kids that might not sound like much money but if she moved into an affordable house, learned how to scrimp and save and tried denying herself all so the kiddies can one day have something & packed lunches and got a 9-to-5, even Kate G could learn to make a few million stretch through 13 more years of child induced bills!
