Angelina Jolie to Write and Direct Her First Feature Film

Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie will write and direct her first feature film, UsMagazine reports. British film company GK Films confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday. Jolie will not star in the film.

The film, which will be Jolie's first screenwriting credit, is a romance set during the '90s Bosnian war. The movie star describes it as "a love story, not a political statement," in a recent statement issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), for which she's goodwill ambassador.

The cast will exclusively feature "various ethnicities of the former Yugoslavia," according to the GK Films statement. "I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can," seconded Jolie in the UNHCR statement.

The 'Salt' star will also be a producer on the film--and was spotted over the weekend scouting for set locations in Budapest, Hungary with her twins, Knox and Vivienne, in tow. She also visited Sarajevo, Bosnia, to meet with leaders about war refugees. Longtime beau Brad Pitt didn't join them for the trip.

No start date for the film has been set.

Jolie will next be seen onscreen in the film 'The Tourist,' co-starring Johnny Depp. The thriller opens December 10.

I wish this disfunctional broad and her boy toy Pitt would just go away and disappear. Better yet, why don't they do a porno on how they porked each other while filming Mr and Mrs. Smith, and Jenn was waiting for Pitt at home (she's an obsessed cheater, a dark individual.
