Drew Barrymore Wanted to Rip Reporter's Face Off

In an interview with the London Daily Standard, Drew Barrymore really opened up. Not about her new romantic comedy 'Going the Distance' and not about working with on-again, off-again beau Justin Long. In fact, she went off about a reporter who'd just interviewed her!

"You should have heard this bitch I had to do an interview with before you. God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing. I have no problem talking about it. I am not someone who is ashamed of my past. I'm actually really proud. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but they in turn were my life lessons," she recalled to the London Daily Standard.

The actress continued, "It's actually good to get it done young and have a great life later. But yeah, man, I wanted to rip this woman's face off. She just would not shut up about it."

Barrymore never names the reporter or the publication that asked the probing questions. Quick note to self: keep "wild child" questions to a minimum next time we interview Ms. Barrymore.

I think it would be more helpful, if Drew would rip her own face off. She looks like a cross between Arnold Stang and Mr. Ed.

I would agree with you if any of that "misspent youth" crap was true. All that garbage about being a 9 year old alcoholic (or whatever) was a publicity stunt. Barrymore has been photographed drinking alcohol many times and claims she can still "have the occasional drink". Something a REAL alcoholic could not and would not do.

I like Drew. She's down to earth and she's never seem to have been that out of control during her 'wild days'.

Alot of actors get asked questions they don't like to answer; they just say "I don't want to answer that" or "I don't want to talk about it, change to some other subject". It is perfectly o.k. not to answer questions. CEO's don't always answer questions either during interviews on CNBC or financial news channels. CEO's verbally respond to questions by saying something unrelated to the topic/subject of the questions. I am glad for her that she buried her past and moved on to succeed in life. So if Drew doesn't like the questions being asked, she should just say whatever she feels like talking about even if the verbal response is totally unrelated to the topic of discussion/questions from reporter.

She was a pretty typical Hollywood media kid with a family name that goes back to the birth of film and a century before that in the theater, including the Colts of firearms fame, the Drews of the theater, the Booths (as in John Wilkes) and the Carridines. Hey, I grew up around girls like that, and she's done damn okay.

I wonder why she was so unhappy to keep talking about the things she claims here she is so proud of? Don't people usually LIKE taling about those things they are honestly PROUD of? "I wanted to rip her face off" for asking about all those things I'm so proud of, just doesn't jive.
