Julio Iglesias Marries Girlfriend of 20 Years

Eternally suave Latin pop icon Julio Iglesias has married Miranda Rijnsburger, his girlfriend of 20 years and mother of five of the singer's children, according to a statement published by HOLA! magazine.

Iglesias, 66, and his bride, 44, tied the knot on Aug. 24 in an intimate ceremony in Marbella, Spain. According to reports, only his five sons and two other witnesses were there, and the nuptials were followed by a traditional Catholic mass in a chapel at his farm in nearby Malaga.

The 'To All the Girls I've Loved Before' crooner met Rijnsburer, a Dutch model, while visiting Indonesia in late 1990 and soon struck up a relationship. They had their first child, a son named Miguel, in 1997, followed by Rodrigo, twins Cristina and Victoria, and, in 2007, another son, Guillermo.

He was previously married to Isabel Preysler, the mother of his three older children, Isabel, Julio Jr., who recently announced he's engaged, and Enrique. That marriage ended in divorce in 1979.

In March, Iglesias told HOLA! that he had enjoyed "twenty years of many beautiful things" with his Dutch partner and that he "loves her deeply."

Iglesias has sold more than 200 million records worldwide since debuting in the late 1960s.

Just think lol years ago I couldn't get my children Baptized because I didn't go to church every Sunday. I was married to their dad and divorced, now I am no longer a good catholic in the churches eyes.. lol Thats ok...I'm a good christian now.

Here's another Catholic marriage stat: Frank Sinatra had his first marriage (that produced the three children) annulled after his 3rd marriage, so that he could have a Catholic wedding to his 4th wife.

In the old days, annulments were usually granted if the marriage was NOT consummated or there was some other basic aspect that was not fulfilled; but to just have a marriage annuled so that a subsequent marriage can have the church's blessing reminds us why there was a Protestant Reformation - and why, before that, Henry VIII had so many wives (8), of which many, of course, were annulled - as in, he had them executed!!

A couple has five children and then decides to get married. Its obvious what kind of morals and values these kids were brought up with seeing their Father and Mother not love enough to even get married. Its getting old people having children out of wedlock then wondering what is happening to the youth of today.

Obviously they were happy together....marraige may be just a legality for them. They know their business best... His first marraige ended in divorce .We should just be happy for them and celebrate the longevity of their relationship...Nowadays more couples get divorced than those who stay married ....I am happy for them nNothing negative tosay...

Sooo you claim to know what went on between them and their priest? What do you know about the Catholic faith? anything at all?? I seriously doubt it and don't bring up the sexual abuse of children...that takes place in all faiths.
