Will ForteIt's the end of an era for MacGruber. After eight seasons, Will Forte is leaving 'Saturday Night Live.' Forte's publicist, Lewis Kay, said Thursday that Forte is moving on from 'SNL' "to pursue other opportunities."

Kay said Forte is "eternally grateful" to 'SNL' producer Lorne Michaels and to "all the incredible people he worked with over the years" for his successful run on the show.

Forte joined the cast in 2002 as a featured player. Shortly after, he was upgraded to regular cast member and took over the role of then-president George W. Bush when Will Ferrell left the show and was featured as a number of recurring characters, including the Falconer and MacGruber.
