Katy PerryKaty Perry brought 'California Gurls' and more to New York on the 'Today' show on Aug. 27. After opening her set with the first single from her latest album, she performed 'Teenage Dream' and 'I Kissed a Girl.'

Between song performances, Perry was asked about her engagement to actor Russell Brand. But the pop star seemed to be more concerned about another man who was missing from the scene. "He is very romantic, and no one else can compare to him," Perry said of her fiance. "Besides maybe Matt Lauer. Where is Matt Lauer? He knew I would be here today, and he's left me."

The night before the show, Perry reportedly sent over blankets and pillows to her fans that camped out to wait for the concert. "I wanted to bring something sweet 'cause it's so early in the morning, and lots of people are really cranky early in the morning," Perry said from the pink Candy Land-inspired stage.
