Michael Jackson's Kids Start School For First Time

You remember it like it was yesterday, don't you? Your first day of school. Standing at the bus stop with a fresh hair cut and an even fresher peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It's an American classic, and now, it's an experience the two eldest children of the late Michael Jackson can relate to.
Homeschooled since they began their education, Prince Michael, 13, and his sister Paris, 12, began classes at The Buckley School in California's San Fernando Valley on Wednesday. Jackson family sources tell
TMZ, Prince wanted to enroll to have "a social experience."
Katherine Jackson -- who has custody of Michael's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, 8 -- has been
working hard to provide the kids with a more normal upbringing since their father's tragic passing. In June, Jackson's kids were spotted going door-to-door as Jehovah's Witnesses. Sources
told PopEater at the time that the King of Pop wanted his children to grow up with the same beliefs he had as a child.
"The children are seemingly as normal as normal can be under pretty extraordinary circumstances," Katherine's lawyer, Adam Streisand, told The Associated Press (via the
Huffington Post).
While Prince was excited to start school, Paris was initially more reluctant but became more excited as the big day approached.
The Buckley School is an exclusive private school with scads of famous alumni: Matthew Perry, Alyssa Milano, Nicole Richie, Nicollette Sheridan, Laura Dern, Paris Hilton and
Kim Kardashian all attended.
Blanket -- who Streisand described to the AP as "totally cute and personable – a very bright little boy" -- will continue to be homeschooled, as Katherine feels he's to young to begin traditional schooling.

Jehovah's Witness is considered a cult by mainstream Christianity.

Hello the problem with those who go to the kingdom hall is they all think Jesus is an Angel. Jesus is way above the angels and in fact sits at the right hand of God, and in fact is God.

How many times have YOU been to a Kingdom Hall? I am not a Jehovah Witness however, I have been to a Kingdom Hall and to one of their Bible Studies, you are wrong about what they believe Jesus was or is. They not only pray to Jesus, but sing to him. My son and his wife are Jehovah Whitness, while I am "mainstream Christian." I know that the proper name for GOD is The Great Jehovah GOD. It is in the Bible, look it up!
Hello. Jesus is NOT God.
AMEN!
Good they need to live a normal life !

Blanket. Is that his real name? Seriously, it needs to be changed or he'll get ridiculed all his life.

HeeHee is right. You are certainly out of the loop.
African Americans can produce children from whitest white to blackest black with different hair textures and this occurs in the same family with the same mother and father. Biological or not these are MJ's children and God bless them and Katherine Jackson too.

This is to dstak or who ever said the kids do not resemble MJ. My children do not resemble me either and I am the one who was in labor with them! One looks like my paternal Grandmother and the looks like his Father had him. So can you or anyone say that they are not mine?

I'm glad they are starting to live somewhat of a normal life vs. continuing to be reclusive and wearing head coverings, not normal by any standard. The young boy blanket at age 8 is not too young to start regular school. Having said that I can understand why he's not there now. He will no doubt have serious social issues going around with the name Blanket. It sound so baby like a name to give any person. What was Michael thinking!! Blanket is an object not a person's name. Perhaps it's great for a pet's name. Picture him at 20 or 30 years old with people calling him Blanket. Even the nickname Blank has a negative connotation. It's not fair to the boy. Change his name already for pete's sake! It's in his best interest.

I'm glad they get to go to school so they will see life isn't all fun and games and that there is so much to learn out there. I think this will keep them in the real world other than pop music, in case thet ever want to be more than singers or stars.
Being Michael's kids they will always be famous but its nice to have your own identity and goals in life and school can show them that.

I marvel at you people who are always Putting down the parents of Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton for not bringing up thier children right, and yet K. Jackson is taking the kids to the Kingdom Hall and teaching them morals, love for neighbor, and a sure hope for the future. I think some of you just like to put others down strictly because it makes you feel powerful behind these blogs. And some of you putting down the Witnesses for being a cult and bad, you need to do your research. Stop going to sites that put others down with twisted truth and go to the official site of the Witnesses. Find out what they really believe instead of listening to prejudiced people.

I wish the children nothing but happiness and enlightenment on their journey through life. My best wishes to those who would put a stumbling block in the path of children. Your hate will carry you whence you belong.

If blanket is 8 why does kathy think he's too young for traditional school ? is he retarded ? he's a normal white child like the other 2 are. they are not wacko jackos biological kids.

Freddy - You know little of genes. Also ICON status. Differs tremendously from "ordinary". 8 is tender. Certain will attend when ready. Also certain Katherine knows what she is doing. Blanket the LEAST appears White. In any case, always TWO parents.
