Why Chris Brown Won't Tour With Usher

After July's well-received joint appearance onstage in Jamaica, and an enthusiastic remark that producer Bryan-Michael Cox made in an interview with Jermaine Dupri ("
Usher and the boy
Chris Brown are going on tour, y'all know that, right?"), fans expected a major concert collaboration to be announced.
On Tuesday's broadcast of BET's '106th and Park,' however, Chris Brown dismissed the rumor while plugging his film 'Takers,' saying he wanted to focus on solo efforts. Many questioned the explanation, and speculated that Usher -- whose reps have issued a statement denying a tour partnership -- wants to distance himself Brown, still struggling to repair his image after his notorious 2009 arrest for assaulting then-girlfriend
Rihanna.
But now, a source is telling the New York Post that there's a much simpler reason: money.
An industry insider points to Brown's current Live Nation contract as the roadblock, because it's a deal Brown reportedly can't be freed from in order to be loaned out for a tour with Usher. In other words, he'd potentially be subject to legal action if he broke the agreement.
Meanwhile, another source tells the Post all is copacetic between the singers: "Usher has no issue with Chris....He and his camp were absolutely positive to the notion of touring. There were discussions, but it did not pan out."
Brown is famously
banned from performing in the United Kingdom, thanks to the case that made him as well-known among many celeb-watchers for his domestic violence crime as for his music career. Although a
judge recently praised the 21-year-old singer's progress in a probation hearing, he reportedly continues having trouble securing a travel visa for overseas performances, and getting radio programmers to play his singles.

Do we really care about either one? Chris Brown is a woman beater, and Usher is just Usher. I would walk across the street to see either one of them.

Sorry but Chris Brown is still not contrite enough for his beating of Rhianna, and the majority of the public is not ready to forgive and forget. He will be a long time rebounding from this one.

As for losers listening to Chris Brown, everyone likes whatever music we like... no on likes all music and it's not fair to label people as losers...you may have habits that someone would think make you a loser or worse...

First of all, to all of u haters on here, Chris Brown is doing way more than his share of addressing his faults, It's time to live and leave alone that which can not be taken back....and with that said...Chris Brown is a very talented young performer whom is still learning from his mistakes....It's ppl like u all on here who feel you are judge and jury into what goes on in these celebrity lives....That you are now and Only GOD can judge. Neither of you were in the car the night anything went down therefore you only got little aspects of the case at hand which was of course edited and fixed to make one side look better than the other but from my understanding BOTH were at fault and for you to condemn one you should condemn both....GROW UP PEOPLE....Chris Brown is good at what you do and it's obviously that regardless of ALL the HATERZ still out here his work is starting to speak for itself.....CHECK THE CHARTS.......I LOVE CHRIS BROWN!!!!!!!

Both were at fault? No, I don't know at all what happened in that car beyond what I read in the publicized police report, but, NO, Rihanna is not at fault for Chris Brown beating on her like he did. He really gave her a beat down. The only way they would both be at fault is if Rihanna asked him to beat her. Again. And then again. And bite her. And whatever it was he did to her. Slam her head against the car? I just remember it was really violent and sounded like it would be a terrifying ordeal to happen to anyone. I am actually pro Chris Brown resurrecting his music career if he can because he is very talented and that didn't change with him beating Rihanna. But unless Rihanna was beating on him too or asked for it literally, then only Chris Brown is responsible for the beating that took place and the crazy violence that happened in that car.
Look there's a thing called forgiveness, that's something alot of people need to work on. I love their music and will continue to listen to them. Also you won't be forgiven for your sins if you can't forgive others...People work on it or it will be too late...

There is a thing called forgiveness, and there's another thing called SINCERE REMORSE. If he ever grows up and expresses true remorse, maybe he will receive some forgiveness in return. Until then, mini-O.J. can take his CDs, concerts and crappy movies and blow them out his ear. I won't listen to a radio station that plays his songs or watch a movie he's in. He's disgusting.

Banned from the U.K. Seriously? Wow. Have to ask then, are all U.S. convicted criminals banned from the U.K. as well? Seems sort of unfair. I really love his "Forever" song and discovered it after he beat Rihanna. I, of course, do not think it is okay that he beat Rihanna, but I still love that song. I'm glad 97.1 is starting to play it again.
