Kate Gosselin at Emmys: Lookin' for a Job (and a Man)

Kate Gosselin was a woman on a mission last night at the Emmy Awards, telling friends it was the perfect venue to find a new acting job and, yep, a new man.

"Kate has made her mind up that she's going to be an actress and hopes her new profession will result in her finding a new man," a friend of the mom 'o eight tells me, explaining that she saw the Emmys as the "perfect place" to network with casting directors and producers.

I'm told Kate has really enjoyed being a reality (and 'DWTS') star, but now she's ditching reality to focus on scripted work in an effort to be the next Edie Falco or, if she's looking to get into comedy, Tina Fey. Wait, that IS funny!

"The show she would really like to be cast in is 'Mad Men,'" my source deadpanned.

You have to admire Kate's confidence. Anyone else might feel a little intimidated walking the same red carpet as some of television's best-loved actors, including the legendary Betty White, but not the star 'Kate Plus 8.' Sources tell me she felt at home on the red carpet, but was a tad disappointed she didn't get a chance to meet George Clooney.

"Kate looks at the happiness of couples who met on sets together -- Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer and Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks come to mind -- and believes that's how she is going to find love again," an insider tells me. "She has it all planned out and won't take no for an answer."

This woman is a media "ho"...you can just see how much she enjoys being in the limelight...I thought "her" show was suppose to be about the kids, yet, it seems as though the PR is pushing her. There she stands with that "friendly me" on her face and "I have so much personality" attitude and it makes me want to throw a rock at her; but, instead, I change channels & give it enough time for her spot to go away.

I thought she was doing all this stuff for her kids...looks more like this greedy skank is doing it ALL for HER. Now, she wants to be an actress - you've got to be kidding.

I didn't realize she was going to be on the Emmy's; I thought she was going to be on AFTER the Emmy's; otherwise, I would not have watch BUT when her bit came on, I just left the room. Why is the stupid a-- media giving her so much advertising. I don't watch anything that she's going to be on. GET RID OF KATE!!!

Looking for a man? Who, in the world, wants a bossy, greedy broad with 8 kids???

Kate's not looking for a husband, it's about time she doing a little dating. Too bad your handsome bodyguard is married, you two make a beautiful couple and he seems to be the one to wear the pants in the family. As for a job, it's a matter of time before you'll get a tap.

I couldn't not agree with you more. Holding George Clooney picture like he would think twice about her. She needs to raise her kids and forget about fame. Actually people have to stop making her popular - its the public that is doing this.

I agree with Suzy, time for the twit to figure out that she is a mother and that those kids are her main interest and job. They are not nick nacks to put on a shelf and ignore. They are not to be used for a tv show as she uses them. They need a real mom and not someone that has had almost as much plastic work done as that gal that wants to look like a barbie doll. I only had to watch the original show about 5 times to figure out that she is all about herself, not really into the kids, and worst of all a big ball buster of males. She would have to find a hermit if she is after husband or even a boy friend, someone that has no idea what she is really like and how selfish she is. Those kids did not ask to be born but now that they are here, she needs to suck it up and care for them and stop living off them as well.
