Kate Gosselin at Emmys: Lookin' for a Job (and a Man)

Kate Gosselin was a woman on a mission last night at the Emmy Awards, telling friends it was the perfect venue to find a new acting job and, yep, a new man.

"Kate has made her mind up that she's going to be an actress and hopes her new profession will result in her finding a new man," a friend of the mom 'o eight tells me, explaining that she saw the Emmys as the "perfect place" to network with casting directors and producers.

I'm told Kate has really enjoyed being a reality (and 'DWTS') star, but now she's ditching reality to focus on scripted work in an effort to be the next Edie Falco or, if she's looking to get into comedy, Tina Fey. Wait, that IS funny!

"The show she would really like to be cast in is 'Mad Men,'" my source deadpanned.

You have to admire Kate's confidence. Anyone else might feel a little intimidated walking the same red carpet as some of television's best-loved actors, including the legendary Betty White, but not the star 'Kate Plus 8.' Sources tell me she felt at home on the red carpet, but was a tad disappointed she didn't get a chance to meet George Clooney.

"Kate looks at the happiness of couples who met on sets together -- Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer and Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks come to mind -- and believes that's how she is going to find love again," an insider tells me. "She has it all planned out and won't take no for an answer."

Looking for a job? I thought this fauxlebtity had a series already. How much money does this shrew need? She has 8 kids... so what. She has made millions. She just wants the lime light.

Anyone would be crazy to get involved with Kate. She constantly berated Jon. Nothing is good enough for her. How much time does she really spend with her kids....she's too busy thinking only about herself.

Could you support 8 children and yourself on a nurse's salary...please PROVE to me how you could and I might agree with your statement that she get a job as a nurse.
Don't forget to take into account:
child care
food
clothing
shelter (even if it's a smaller place, they still need a place to sleep)
medical expenses
and myriad of other things that children need.
Good luck with that budget.

John had a job but had to quit when 'dear old' Kate went on the road to promote her book. She is really self centered. If she needs money then she has squandered her millions...

C'mon!! Kate IS a good actress! She "acts" like she's a good mom and she "acts" like she is concerned about her kids! As soon as TLC stops footing the bill for her to show up at events that are out of her league, and stops paying the one pap to hang out in her hometown, she'll fade from her imagined limelight....

Why do otherwise intelligent people believe everything they read? The "source" has spoken so now it's all true? This isn't just about KG, this is about the crap that's spewed about others as well that people seem to take at face value just because it's in print. I just can't imagine being so naive to believe everything I read.

I had hoped that Kate would fade away and GO AWAY!!
She really has an ego ..I can't imagine her succeeding as ANYTHING!! We all know that she can't dance!! A total clutz!!!
Any man who would want to hook up with her would have to be out of his mind!! To take on 8 kids and an abusive wife would be totally insane!!! But, there are some idiots out there who will be willing to do so...I say,...GOOD LUCK!!!
