Kate Gosselin at Emmys: Lookin' for a Job (and a Man)

Kate Gosselin was a woman on a mission last night at the Emmy Awards, telling friends it was the perfect venue to find a new acting job and, yep, a new man.

"Kate has made her mind up that she's going to be an actress and hopes her new profession will result in her finding a new man," a friend of the mom 'o eight tells me, explaining that she saw the Emmys as the "perfect place" to network with casting directors and producers.

I'm told Kate has really enjoyed being a reality (and 'DWTS') star, but now she's ditching reality to focus on scripted work in an effort to be the next Edie Falco or, if she's looking to get into comedy, Tina Fey. Wait, that IS funny!

"The show she would really like to be cast in is 'Mad Men,'" my source deadpanned.

You have to admire Kate's confidence. Anyone else might feel a little intimidated walking the same red carpet as some of television's best-loved actors, including the legendary Betty White, but not the star 'Kate Plus 8.' Sources tell me she felt at home on the red carpet, but was a tad disappointed she didn't get a chance to meet George Clooney.

"Kate looks at the happiness of couples who met on sets together -- Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer and Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks come to mind -- and believes that's how she is going to find love again," an insider tells me. "She has it all planned out and won't take no for an answer."

KATE DARLING... get a freaking REAL job and quit dreaming (cause that's all it will EVER be) about being an actress!! you have no talent and you won't have time to be a "real mother" to your "tube brewd". i can't even imagine you as a nurse, that makes me shutter at the thought. i say open up a daycare, that's about all you can do at this point!!

Anyone that would marry her would have to be as nuts as her. Not only is she a bit** but that poo tang must be stretched to the limits with 8 kids. Id be afraid of falling in.

Kate needs to return to the drawing board. She opted to have eight children, to whom she owes her time and her nurturing. (I must say having observed her parenting skills, they may be better off with her in Hollywood.) There is always furthering your education and making an honest living. Most importantly, therapy and life coaching may help Kate know herself and develop a realistic, responsible life plan.

I agree with you Joanna. So many people on here keep saying about Kate getting a man but, no one seems to be concerned about the children. Most men don't want any "baggage" let alone eight. I am not a fan but, wish her and her children lots of luck!

Now, you all have to admit it, she looks pretty darn good for someone who has had eight children. Jon is the looser, wasn't he the one who was caught cheating? Her chances of ever getting another man is slim to nothing because she has eight children. So therefore, she has to concentrate on getting a career in order to raise them to the best of her ability. While Jon can go on having more sexual affairs, and making more children.

I have the answer for Kate. They should put her on one of those shows that teaches people how to control their children and husbands (husbands, that was a joke). She can go on another show on organizing one's house. The perfect job for Kate. A dancer & actress, absolutely not!! Having said all that, you have to respect that she runs a tight ship at home. It is difficult to run a home with children when your the only one doing it and there's a spouse that couldn't take initiative to help make things run smoothly. On the other hand, if Kate was always trying to control him all the time, I can understand his withdrawl, however, he is a man and father and should have taken initiative to help without her having to tell him what he should do. She is a control freak and needed to lighten up a bit and life at home would be a lot less stressful. She sometimes needs to take a happy pill. Her oldest daughter picked up on her mother's spoiled, rotten & controlling disposition. I noticed that when she was 3.

The best news is when she isn't in it in fact I haven't heard anything about her until now.I thought that was great when the people that were trying to form a glee club didn't want her. In fact I think that was Hollywood's way of telling her to get lost.The show that she had with her family wasn't acting but then again for her she might have been. She was the worse dancer ever on DWTS and her voice sounds like a squeeling pig so she can't sing either. I would like to meet the people that actually tell her positive things so they can get the mental healthcare with her.
