Bodyguards Follow Prince and Paris Jackson Around New School

Michael Jackson's two oldest children -- Prince Michael, 13, and Paris, 12 -- began their studies at a traditional school
last Wednesday -- their first experience outside of homeschooling. But before they could hit the books like "normal" kids, Prince and Paris had to first win over their skeptical grandmother, Katherine.
A family member close to the situation tells
PopEater that Paris and Prince's legal guardian protested the idea of sending the sheltered kids to school, feeling their father would have disapproved. However, one of Jermaine Jackson's sons stepped in and encouraged Katherine to allow Prince and Paris to move away from homeschooling.
The King of Pop's eldest children are attending The Buckley School in the San Fernando Valley and a parent at the school tells PopEater that things are anything but "normal" when the famous kids are there.
Both have full-time bodyguards, who patrol the school's parking lot and accompany the kids from class to class, to their lockers and even watch over them during lunch.
This kind of attention would seem to stifle their ability to fit in and make friends -- two things that are important to young Prince, who was seeking a "social experience"
by enrolling at the prestigious school. Sources tell us the Jackson's are the only students at the exclusive school with a full-time security detail.
"The bodyguard situation really is a bit intimidating to other kids," one parent, who has four kids at the school, tells PopEater. "And that makes them hesitant to approach Prince and Paris."
TMZ was first to report that the kids were attending school.
Some in the Jackson family are also upset with this situation because they firmly believe sending the kids to school is not something Michael would have wanted. He famously protected his children from the public, and now various family members believe they are vulnerable and exposed to the outside world.
"This is a huge change for both of them," a family source tells PopEater.
The entire family agreed Jackson's youngest child, Blanket, who at 8 years old is reportedly the shyest of the three, is not ready and will stay at home with private tutors.

Give me a break, let Michael's children be exposed to the outside world. I would hate to see them grow up without knowing what the world and people are all about. These two children are grown up enough to know what to expect. I would hate to see them be as weird as their father was although he was still a brilliant talented person.

I'm sure Michael's children are all too aware of what the world is like..you speak of disfunction? You must be referring to a world where Michael's life was made a living hell by an SOB of a father who put his kid on the stand to purger himself to be awarded 22 million dollars, and got away with it!!! And after Michael died he fessed up!! Or a world where the paparazzi chased him, the tabloids who made up lies to sell papers..or the greedy medical profession that gave him anything he wanted because he was MJ and he had millions...Or the haters who frequent these boards...no they have no idea what the world is like...
I always wonder how people can make statements about people they don't even know (wierd?)
Jackson created the weird and disfunctional world he lived in, and then he selfishly brought three innocent children into this strange world of his. This kids were not even to know a mother's love because of Jackson's self-absorption. These kids were made to feel like it was the WORLD that was weird. These children need protection from this family.
Obviously sheltering himself from the "outside" world didn't work for Michael. He lived a life almost as a recluse. What an awful life for three young kids. Let them grow up with friends and experiencing at least getting out of the house long enough for school. They will never be allowed to live a "normal" life so try to keep them as grounded as possible. It appears most of the family has some issues so they probably don't stand much of a chance. He was a great musician but we all have to admit he was a little on the weird side.

Weird? What's weird about loving and helping as many people as he could during his life. He could rarely bring himself to say no to anybody for anything, and he dearly loved kids. That and his generosity is what got him into trouble. No wrong doing on his part.
Michael was NOT weird. He was a brilliant man. Michael sheltered his kids from the outside world because they were very young. Now they've grown and can handle the world. It's great they're going to school.
I can see the bodyguards taking them to and from school - but following them around? What kind of school experience will these kids have? None.

You forget this is a fancy school for rich elite little darlings. The body guards for all the kids in that school probably outnumber the students. LOL
I agree
I agree with you,Maria.Who is going to harm these kids,at school?Let them be KIDS!!!
Tracer,
In case you didn't read the article, it said they were the only kids with bodyguards. This would be very disruptive for every person at that school. I believe this from a teacher stand point.
Everything this family does is to perpetuate the fantasy myth about these people; the object being MONEY.
myth /mɪθ/ Show Spelled[mith] Show IPA
–noun
1. a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, esp. one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature.
2. stories or matter of this kind: realm of myth.
3. any invented story, idea, or concept: His account of the event is pure myth.
4. an imaginary or fictitious thing or person.
5. an unproved or false collective belief that is used to justify a social institution.
Fame and wealth legend. Not myth.
Michele, says only with "full-time" guards. Others may not follow around, yet certain other kids have, and therefore accustomed to guards. Kids nice, shouldn't be problem to approach J3-1.
Really Can't Relate! Really Do Not Support Them Being In This Kind Of Environment! They HAve Already been Destined To Be SET APART From Normal Society! What Can They Not Achieve At Home With All OF Their Wealth! They Really Need Not Work Ever!

I feel like they should be in the outside world I mean Jeez, just cos Michael didn't want the public as they call all us other people, what about what the kids want or need? They are gonna grow up and want thier own lives in the future and then there won't be any stopping them now will there.??

Gad, can you imagine being the teachers in a situation like this and trying to create a learning environment in this zoo?

No, you can't imagine because you are not rich enough. The teachers are well paid and there are other children of the rich and famous at the school. The teachers are aware of various situations, including body guards, so is it only a zoo to you because they are Michaels children?
