Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' Flutters to No. 1
Katy Perry is officially back to her 'I Kissed a Girl' form now that her 'Teenage Dream' topped the
Billboard 200 album chart this week, selling around 192,000 copies.
It's the first time Perry has ever reached No. 1, and it only took some
cotton candy-scented albums, blue hair, and a shimmering hit song ('California Girls') to get the job done.
Perhaps even more impressive than Perry's performance was that of 'American Idol' winner Fantasia, who finished at No. 2 on the charts with her third album 'Back to Me,' selling 117,000 albums. The good news follows a rough month of August, when she was engulfed in an adultery scandal and
attempted suicide with sleeping pills.
And after 10 weeks, Eminem's hot streak with 'Recovery' finally cooled off at No. 3, selling less than 100,000 copies for the first time -- officially landing at 98,000.
