Zsa Zsa Gabor Released From Hospital

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor was released from the hospital earlier today after being found unresponsive at home yesterday morning, ETOnline.com reports. This was Gabor's third trip to the hospital since hip replacement surgery in July.

Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, tells ET that the actress is resting at home after an overnight stay at UCLA Medical Center. Anhalt called 911 yesterday when he found Gabor unresponsive. "I just called an ambulance. She has to go back to UCLA," her husband told TMZ at the time.

The 93-year-old underwent surgery to remove blood clots earlier in August. After the surgery, a priest read Gabor her last rites. But she made a recovery and was released.

Gabor broke her hip in a July 17 fall at her home in Bel-Air, California. The actress's condition began to deteriorate after hip replacement surgery a few days later, and she remained hospitalized for the following three weeks.

Throughout her hospital stay, there were a series of conflicting reports intimating that she was near death (fueled by her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt) as well as "going strong" (daughter Constance Francesca Hilton).

Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident and had a stroke five years ago. Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

Very cute: "...a priest read Gabor her last rites." This wording gave my Catholic soul a good chuckle. The Catholic "last rites" are an annointing of a sick person with oil. Yes, the priest does pray to God while he does this annointing, but he doesn't read anything to the person receiving the annointing. The "last rite" is called "The Annointing of the Sick." Thanks for the smile! You are so sincere and so sweet. I love to read your articles! My prayers are with Ms. Gabor and her loved ones.

absolutely right.... it USED to be "last rites" but since Vatican II, it is the anointing of the sick. and it isn't unusual for the ill person to gain physical strength from the anointing, and for them to actually get better.

It might be time for Zsa Zsa to get herself a DNR Order do not resusitate... she was unresponsive when HE called the ambulance. Maybe he needs to step back and let nature take its course. It's a very hard thing to do but that is what a DNR is for.

I sooo love Zsa Zsa Gabor. I think she is one of the most clever and intrigueing women the world has seen over the past 50 years. I read her memoirs years ago and was very impressed with her patronage and her zest for life. She is undervalued treasure to this country and sadly known more for obstacles than her contributions. Some of you are saying some really nasty things. How would you feel if it was your mother or sister or friend? It seems so many people have lost any kind of sympathy towards others. Says alot about the kind of person they are. Sad....really sad
