Jerry Lewis Unplugged: 'I Would Smack Lindsay Lohan in the Mouth'

Jerry Lewis has logged over 60 years in showbiz and has seen it all, but what really gets his goat are the current crop of young and troubled celebutantes who seemingly take their charmed lives for granted. Enemy No. 1: Lindsay Lohan, a name that set Lewis off during a no-holds-barred rant on 'Inside Edition' this week.

"I'd smack her in the mouth if I saw her," he offered the interviewer when asked what he'd do if he saw Lohan. "I would smack her in the mouth and be arrested for abusing a woman!"

He continued, "I would say, 'You deserve this and nothing else' ... WHACK! And then, if she's not satisfied, I'd put her over my knee and spank her and then put her in rehab and that's it."

Perhaps aware he'd just said on television that he'd like to smack and spank a 24-year-old woman, the comedy legend turned more grandfatherly in his tone.

"She doesn't have the right to do to herself what she's doing," he said of Lohan, who just did some time in jail and rehab. "She's not hurting my business. What she's doing is hurting herself, and that hurts me. It hurts me for her."

And while there's been no comment from Ms. Lohan, a friend of her mother, Dina Lohan, tells PopEater the celebrity mom is "shocked" by Lewis' comments.

The curiously in-the-know actor, 84, said stars like Lohan and Paris Hilton are "begging for help."

"What they're saying is, 'I'm f*****d up, can you please help me!"

On Britney Spears, Lewis actually seemed aware that the singer has made improvements in her life, saying, "Britney did it for three years before somebody walked in and helped her!"

Lewis, who is gearing up for this weekend's 'Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon,' returned to a more harsh tone when discussing young celebrities who don't give "anything in return" for their fame.

"I think they need a f*****g spanking! And a reprimand!" he said. "It has nothing to do with [money and fame], it has to do that they have the intelligence of a box of rocks. A bag of snails will give you better answers than those people. I think a great deal of it is ignorance and crying for something other than love."

jerry lewis is woderful all time favorite show buiness legend however jerry seems to forget his 25 year or more addiction to percoden . so in that regard perhaps dean martin or his ex wife should done the very same thing to him , maybe punch him in the mouth!!!! or put him back rehab ,, jerry you need stfu

First of all , shame on Mr.Lewis. He forgets , we must first pull that log out of our own eye , then maybe we can speak. And as far as Miss.Lohan is concerned , I truly wish she would make some new friends. I think that her Dad needs to back off , she needs help to see who she is , and thats a human-being not a piece of flesh to be bargained for a price .That price seems to have taken over the ability to see what kind of a woman she really can be. No matter what, she is a child of God. We all are.I wish her well and hope she can turn her life around before it's to late.

Why won't this old, talentless hack die already. The charity he does is nice, but beyond that I've never understood how people can stomach Jerry Lewis. He was the antithesis of funny and at 84 he surely has better things, like incontinence, to worry about than idiot starlets.

it's true that what he said about smacking her in the face. her parents should have done it while "raising" her. i'm sure that jerry like almost every person alive or dead has or had skeletons( no pun intended) in their closet. so he divorced his wife of 36 years some of these "stars" today divorce in 36 days or less. but you don't hang your dirty laundry outside for all to see. today the stars of the day are being arrested and sentenced to silly jail time. yeah you lindsey, you too paris. and a lot more. california, hell, all the states should have one prison for singers movie stars and others who just were born into families with money. set a real prison term and put them there to serve their time. maybe then they'll learn what the real world is about. this decade 2000-2010 is the most decadent one i ever saw and i've seen a few. it's like sodom and gomorrah out their and we all know what happened there
