Failed Letterman Blackmailer Freed From Jail Early

The former television producer who tried to blackmail David Letterman over the comedian's office affairs has been freed from a New York City jail. City Department of Correction records show Robert "Joe" Halderman was released Thursday. He served four months of his six-month sentence and got time off for good behavior.

The former CBS News producer admitted he demanded $2 million in hush money last fall to keep from revealing personal information about Letterman. The case spurred the 'Late Show' host to reveal on-air that he'd had sex with women on his staff.

Halderman's lawyer says his client is glad to put jail behind him and is looking for work. Meanwhile, he has to complete 1,000 hours of community service.

I think David Letterman should invite Robert Halderman to his show.- With David's amazing personality, he should tell him that he
forgives him, and that he would like to know what made him do such
a crazy thing.- I bet the RATINGS OF THE SHOW would go sky HIGH.

Frankly, if I were David Letterman's cannine, and I had to choose which one to bite, Mr Halderman, or Letterman..........?

Ofcourse it would be Letterman.

I am a person that never engages in crime, but frankly, I never accepted Mr Halderman going to prison, for what?

Letterman has been on TV too long, and doesn't have the following (people, fnsd), he wishes he had.

CBS....cornfed, Dave should go back to Indiana.

For what? Extortion is a crime.

This is not about Leno or letterman...it is really about an extortionist that is out of jail and looking for a job.

Now here are the questions:
Who in their right mind is going to offer this POS a job?
Will he get somekind of aid and thereby live off the taxpayer until he finds work?

You are wrong...the real question is has Letterman kept his thing in his pants and kept it for his wife only. I doubt it. Also in case you are not aware, the man served his time and so paid the price. I hope that he finds a very good position and has a good life.

Zero evidence that Letterman did anything with any women other than his wife since he's been married. All of these (three?) relationships happened before he was married and before he had a child. Big scandal.

There are 2 crimes clearly mentioned here: Adultry, and Extortion. Both men are guilty of either crime. Be sure your sins will find you out. Although our society has gone "over the edge", Adultry is still a crime, as is Extortion. The only hope for either man is to turn away from the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Sir Alex.

Nobody cares about this jerk--but I WOULD like to see some pics of the girl Letterman had his affair with! Especially if it was indeed the one in the school jacket that would bring "prizes" down the aisle to him. Delicious gossip!

Pretty sad this guy goes to jail for 4 months while all the celebrity poptarts busted for DUI's get next to nothing when they could of easily killed someone. That's just screwed up!
