Danielle Staub Is Leaving 'Real Housewives'

Danielle Staub, the firecracker on Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,' will not be returning to the show, the network announced Monday. Throughout the tumultuous second season, Staub enraged Caroline Manzo, her sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita and family friend Teresa Giudice, though Staub seemed to make amends at the end of Monday's reunion episode.

"The reunion was Danielle's last appearance on 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,'" said Andy Cohen, Bravo's senior vice president of original programming and development, who also hosts the 'Housewives' reunion shows. "We thought the hugs were a great way to end two seasons of bitterness between the women."

Despite rumors that Staub quit to focus on her own show, sources tell PopEater she was actually fired.

"Cast members Caroline and Jacqueline made it clear that if Danielle stayed they would leave," a 'Housewives' insider tells PopEater. "Bravo had already lost cast member Dina because of Danielle and couldn't risk losing another two cast members from the top 'Housewife' show in the whole franchise."

Last month, Staub told PopEater's Amber James, "I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me ... Don't worry next year, I'll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love."

An insider adds that Staub is working on a spin-off reality series (like Bethenny Frankel's), which will focus on her life and her daughter's career. "I don't know if there are talks right now about a third season of the show, but I'm more excited about talks of my spin-off than anything else," she told Life & Style Magazine at her birthday party in New York on August 10.

In the meantime, Bravo is searching for new cast members, both in existing and potential locales, according to Cohen. That means interviewing and filming test footage of possible 'Housewives' with their friends and families. Cohen said the network has attempted to wrangle a Texas edition for the past two years, but "never hit it" with the right group of women.

At the end of the day, the other wives go home to friends and family and Danielle goes home to her daughters - as she has no other friends. It's a sad exsistence and she thinks she is living a wonderful life....figures! This broad has nothing going for her and a spinoff would certainly bring my thoughts of Bravo WAY DOWN.

You are right - it's really kind of sad that she tries to deflect her actions onto others, trying to make herself look like a victim, but instead she is spiteful, two-faced, and a "user" of her so called friends - she uses them to get into social events and such; she even used her daughters sweet 16 birthday as a fundraiser for a childrens foundation, so that everything was donated and paid for. How cheap and "user" is that?? A charity foundation fundraiser to fund your daughters birthday party?? If you can't afford something, don't be so lavash in your lifestyle - and act like you have money. Remember when she went into Kim G's shop and acted so insulted that the receptionist didn't know who she was, even though the receptionist was a new employee and Danielle demanded an apology? Talk about looking like a fool !! No, I would not watch a "spin off" that featured Danielle - glad she is gone, she was pathetic to watch as she told lie after lie and used people like toilet paper.

RHNJ became increasingly nasty after the revelation of details in Danielle's ex-husband's book and spiraled downward to a new low at the reunion. Danielle would say and do anything to keep herself in the public eye and I am so glad she has been fired. Frankly, I was surprised she was invited back for season 2. Bravo needs to clean house on this one and go for a more positive approach. Haven't we all had enough?

This is OLD news. She wasn't offered a contract when the other women got theirs - back in late spring. According to what was previously reported, BRAVO didn't always issue contracts but this time they did and since Danielle didn't get one, she was not asked back. They have hired Teresa Guidice's sister-in-law for this next year.
