Just in case you've grown tired of the Duggar and Gosselin clans, TLC is serving up some brand-new family drama with 'Sister Wives,' premiering September 26 at 10PM EST. 'Sister Wives' follows Kody Brown, a man with three (soon to be four!) wives and 13 children from his marriages. Hearing Brown explain how he ended up in "plural marriages" is like a real-life version of 'Big Love': "I just fell in love. And then I fell in love again. And then I fell in love again."
"I think we're normal," says one of Brown's wives, "and then I'm like, 'Oh yeah, I can't go out and tell everybody about my normal family.'"

Yee-haw! I have died and gone to polygamy heaven. I love Big Love. And I have read several books on polygamy since I loved Big Love so much. Fascinating, really fascinating. Now I can watch polygamous wives on reality TV. TV viewing does not get much better than this for a monogamous wife who is fascinated with polygamous wives. Why do they do it? What do they get out of it? So many questions, so little time. I will be recording this reality show, you betcha!

Emmaline, you should just slit your wrists, that is the saddest thing I've read in a while. Of course you will be recording it, don't want to mess with the Nascar races on tv. If you are so interested in it, why don't you research it? Oh nvm, probably don't have a library close to the trailer park. You really think these shows are true and honest? Read a book or go to school. Give me a break. Give humanity a break and never procreate (if it's not already too late).

Although Big Love glorifies polygamy - I love the show. However, in reality polygamy is disgusting. It's a way for men not to feel guilty about cheating. Their egos are so inflated, they think they are entitled to have sex with different wives every night of the week. These men are frequently mean and abusive to their wives and children. Read the true stories of polygamy and then you'll understand.

I take pity on any woman in a polygamist marriage (or otherwise) [just like threesomes it never ends well...]
Another reality show! Another HUGE waste of TV air time. If we eliminated all the reality shows, we'd probably be running channels only 12 hours a day and falling back on the Star Spangled Banner and test patterns. I admit that there is a few very rare exceptions, but this show isn't one of them.

These people are pathetic. Do these women have such low self-esteem that they are willing to share a man rather than get their own? And why hasn't this man been arrested? He is on national television admitting to polygamy. And who is paying for these wives and all those kids? And is TLC that desperate for ratings that they'll stoop so low as to put these people on? Get a clue TLC; it's not cute, it's not funny,it's not entertaining, it's just TRASH!

They would rather make money off a gross lifestyle than do something good for themselves. Feel sorry for the kids. Feel sorry for the brain dead idiots who watch shows like this.

@ Lip. There are people who find differing lifestyle choices interesting to watch. I think your judgement of people who watch this show is a bit harsh.
My house is not on wheels, I do have an education and yet..I too am one of those people who will watch this show. The kids didn't look unhappy, as a matter of fact..the family as a whole appeared pretty content.The wives have natural jealousy issues..and perhaps that's what intrigues me about their choices. Why they would choose this??
So, yes TLC..I will watch.
What really gets me is these people hide behind religion to explain their depraved behavior yet they are going on reality tv and making money? How is that glorifying God?

Usually some of the wives work too. There are ways to get by without welfare. However, there are also those that abuse the welfare system.
Or they just got on tv exploiting their families to make money. Guess that's a little better than living off the taxpayers...
First, there were tattoo families. Then there came families with multiplies, a family with 19 kids (and counting!), families that expose young girls, families about little people, families who have members who are drug addicts, bury themselves in trash, or don't know they're pregnant. Now, TLC has a show about a family with multiple wives? Really? How ridiculous! I think TLC has turned more into a sideshow than anything else.

My Mom and I used to wonder the same thing - why can't women have multiple husbands? I guess there is such a thing on occasion - called polyamorous? Really, it's nothing more than greed. Give it 10 more years or so, and you'll be able to marry anyone, or any THING you want to.
Read the history of the Mormon religion. If you believe the origin of this, you'll believe anything.
