Gwyneth Paltrow Sings in 'Country Strong' Trailer

Gwyneth Paltrow is goin' country in her new musical drama, 'Country Strong.'

In the film, the actress plays an emotionally unstable country star attempting to rescue her embattled career. While on a comeback tour, she finds her romantic life in turmoil and a younger star trying to steal her spotlight. In the first trailer, Paltrow shows off her singing chops and proves she can wail with the best of them.

This isn't the first time that Paltrow has flexed her vocal talents. In 2000's 'Duets,' she played a woman who tries her hand at karaoke, winning over the audience with her version of 'Bette Davis Eyes.'

'Country Strong' hits theaters in limited release December 22 and goes nationwide on January 7.

I dont really like the "Song" and I'm not a big Paltrow fan, But I like the message of this story. Packaged youth can't (and shouldn't) take the place of tallent! There is NO WAY an 18 year old kid can sing a song with as much heart as someone who has lived "it"! Sorry, in country youth is not king (as much as Nashville likes to shove it down our throats). Sorry Taylor.

I don't understand why every time they make a movie that takes place in the South, EVERY SINGLE PERSON has this really fake accent. Not everyone in the south talks like that (especially Texas), and it's obvious so many of these accents are faked.

You are right Maya. When I finally visited Texas (from Chicago) I was shocked that not everybody sounded like a stereotypical rube. Particularly North Texas, the accents were very subtle.

I can't stand Gwyneth Paltrow. She won an award years ago for a movie that nobody went to see and now poor poor Gwyneth got snubbed for bad singing, bad acting, and a pitiful southern accent. She can back to London. I simply don't see the fascination with her. Whenever I see that she is making a movie, I always wonder if somebody called in a favor to get her the part.
