Anchors, Stars and Bands Join Forces to Stand Up to Cancer for a Massive Telethon

Network anchors Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Brian Williams joined forces to unite TV networks, cable competitors and Web sites to Stand Up to Cancer with a star-studded telethon.

Billie Joe Armstrong, The Edge, Stevie Wonder, Lady Antebellum, Natasha Bedingfield and more filled the show with moving tunes while stars from Denzel Washington and Adam Sandler to Ryan Seacrest and George Clooney worked the phones and spoke to the fight against cancer. Stand Up To Cancer launched in 2008 and had a phenomenally successful telecast. Since launching, the organization has helped raise over $100 million for translational cancer research.

I think Terry Jones should watch tonight's Stand Up
special, and understand why he can't enforce an
attack on the church and all those books. Right now,
Terry Jones is the real cancer of Florida we need
to worry about, and I really hope he doesn't go
through with that 9'th Anniversary September 11'th
burning. If he does, I hope he goes back to church
and prays that God gave him the right message, for
as it stands right now, Terry Jones deserves to die
for even thinking of planning this outragious stunt.
Obama, please lock Terry Jones in prison for life,
throw away the key, and save us from this cancer.
