How's Ben Affleck as a Director? Jon Hamm Jokes: 'Pure Misery'

Cracking wise at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday while discussing what it was like to film the new bank-heist thriller 'The Town' (in theaters next weekend), 'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm opened up during a press conference about taking direction from
Ben Affleck.
"It was an awful experience," Hamm insisted, according to
PEOPLE. "[Ben's] a horrible human being. Talent-free, I guess we could probably say. It was pure misery...two-and-half months of absolute, abject terror."
Seriously? "No, it was truly a wonderful experience," he said.
But Hamm also claimed that some very sexy scenes helped make the shoot so memorable.
"My sex scenes with Ben -- which were cut, I think, wisely -- were raunchy," he noted, cracking up the crowd.
Affleck, one of the film's stars as well as its director and co-writer, reportedly gets busy on screen with both 'Gossip Girl' vixen Blake Lively, and British actress Rebecca Hall ('Vicky Cristina Barcelona'), in his role as a Boston-based bank robber with a conscience. Hamm plays an FBI special agent determined to catch him.
Joking aside, Affleck told reporters in the press conference, "If casting is directing, then today I can feel proud of my directing." 'The Town' (Affleck's second feature at the helm; his directorial debut was 2007's 'Gone Baby Gone') also costars Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner and Oscar winner Chris Cooper. Early
buzz has been positive.

Affleck's a far better director than actor,as the stellar "Gone Baby Gone" proved. I expect "The Town" to be just as,if not more, riveting, and I'll be third in line at the multiplex next Friday.

I think Jon Hamm is terrific on "Mad Men" and am anxious to see him in this film. Maybe the beginning of a stellar movie career? We'll see.

You are aware that those were masks used to rob a bank. They were not "old men in habits". I would say that bank robbers are atrocious. What are you - 10?
