Cher Turns Back Time With Outfit at VMAs, Then Steps Aside As Gaga Previews New Song

The MTV VMAs needed a highlight and got one thanks to a flashback outfit from pop legend Cher that gave way to a preview of great things to come from a pop legend in the making, Lady Gaga.

First, Cher showed that she's still got the curves. Over twenty years after the release of her 1989 hit 'If I Could Turn Back Time,' Cher put on the revealing one piece that she wore on the battleship during the controversial clip in order to present Video of the Year.

"I'm the oldest chick with the biggest hair in the littlest costume," said Cher to massive applause.

"Back in the day, I used to get thrown off MTV for wearing things like this that seem so tame now. That's when Lady Gaga was Baby Gaga."

Cher's video, with the notorious fishnet outfit, was banned from airing during daylight hours by MTV. Cher was right in that it's an outfit that doesn't have anywhere near the same shock value today. Gaga revealed more in her 'Telephone' video.

"I have shoes older than most of these nominees," she concluded before presenting Lady Gaga with the Video of the Year award for 'Bad Romance.' Gaga then turned her speech into a great coming attraction for her forthcoming album.

"I never thought I'd be asking Cher to hold my meat purse," said Gaga, wearing what appeared to be a sweaty side of beef, while accepting the award.

Gaga, in tears, told the audience that if she won, she promised herself that she would reveal the name of her new album, 'Born This Way.' She then belted out what appeared to be a refrain from the title track from the album.

The lyrics would appear to be aimed directly at her fans, the 'Little Monsters,' who she loves so dearly. "I'm beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes / I'm on the right track baby / I was born this way."

I love Cher, but she is my age and what she had on doesn't belong on a 60 something. I understand that she is trying to keep herself young, but there is a limit. As for Lady GaGa she is a weirdo that can sing.

Gaga and Cher both need to learn how to dress. Cher should start acting her age. She's no spring chicken anymore. With all the plastic surgery she looks different. She should lose that hair. Her life has been one screwed up mess including her daughter turned son.

Does anyone see the fact that Lady Gaga is nothing more than a clone of Cher? The outrageous outfits and hair styles used to get attention from the public. The only difference is that Cher has great talent not only as a singer but an actor too. From motion pictures to her own TV show. Lets see if Gaga can achieve Cher's fame. I seriously doubt it.
