Congrats, Slater! It's a girl! Mario Lopez, former 'Saved by the Bell' hero who now hosts the syndicated entertainment news show 'Extra,' is a daddy. His girlfriend, Broadway dancer Courtney Laine Mazza, delivered their first child, Gia Francesca Lopez, on Saturday in Burbank, Calif., according to 'Extra.' Little Gia arrived weighing 6 lbs., 4 oz., and both mother and baby girl are reportedly doing fine.
"We are so overjoyed. What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world," Lopez said. (Take a peek at the baby's posh new nursery here.)
VH1 has been prepping a reality series about the TV star's new adventures in fatherhood. On Friday, Lopez tweeted: "They want to call the VH1 show 'Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby'. Makes me laugh when I say it out loud which is good since the show's funny."

Um no! Not everyone has to do it that way and I can't stand it when people dicate to others how they SHOULD have done things! Unless you remain a virgin accidents can happen and when they do you don't have to have a shot gun wedding that will probably not even last!

Probably because accidents do happen? No birth control is 100% except for virginity which hardly ever happens! So please don't preach to people about getting married first and then having a child. ANd getting married for the child's sake when you don't love someone enough hardly ever works out
Well, I, for one, hope they do stay together. But, how do 'they' deliver a child? Last I heard (and experienced), the WOMAN is the one to 'deliver' a child... The nursery is beautiful. Hope they get rid of the dog... Don't trust dogs around babies..

Don't trust people who do not like dogs!!! The right dog breed (raised properly) is a great thing for the child. They are protective when necessary, loving and the child will benefit!
Mario, be a man and get married first. Also, we don't need a parenting book from a celebrity. You make enough money doing nothing.

Getting married to someone just because they are pregnant is NOT being a man! It's stupid and people wonder why divorce rates are so high! You should marry someone because you love THEM enough to spend the rest of your life with them not because they are pregnant if you are a man you will be a father to your child rather you marry their mom or not
Congrats on the arrival of your daughter, but I always thought the ''partner'' you would have had a child with, would have been a man-not a wife.

There's nothing that says a couple has to get married first before having a child. As long as the child is healthy and happy, it doesn't matter if the parents are married or not. Every child is a gift from God and should be seen as such. For the person who said Mario Lopez does nothing, you couldn't be further from the truth. He's been an actor for a very long time. A few times, he's been a game show host (example: Masters of the Maze). Mario, don't listen to these people who are getting on to you for not marrying your girlfriend before you had your child. If you're happy the way you are, then I wish all the happiness in the world for you.
